Digestion...

Featured Replies

Hi

Perhaps half an hour after a meal, when whatever is going on in the stomach, the digestion process is well advanced at a certain point of progress.

Eating again at that moment mixes partially digested food with food in need of the entire process.

What happens in that situation? ; how does the stomach recognizes what to 'continue' digesting and what to 'start' digesting ? Will the process start again and the already semi-processed food gets another 'treatment' ?

The stomach has a pretty quick and simply job comparitivly to the small and large intestine. Eating more will stimulate the release of more digestive enzymes. The Food that has already partially brokendown due to reactions with these enzymes will not get any furthur treatment becuase there is nothing left for those particualar ezymes to react with.
