Swelling and pain in my vagina!

Featured Replies

I read the questions about vaginal swelling on your web site and talked to my doctor about my own swelling. The doctor did not examine me and basically said it was varicose veins. I can't tell you how much the vaginal swelling hurts. It also bleeds a little. It is limited to one side of my vagina. Do have any relief ideas? This is killing me! I am going to make that doctor look at this swelling when I go back. Why doesn't anyone talk about "cheeseburger crotch"?

It could be a number of things from infection to Gonorrhoea, why your GP diagnosed the problem without an examination is odd.

I'd perhaps try a different GP, and as you said, demand an examination. It's generally not a good idea to get ideas for treatment off the internet, especially when the problem hasn't been properly diagnosed.

My advice is the same as Snails.

Go see the Dr and don't leave until proper examination has been carried out.

If your GP is not much use then maybe seeing a specialist at a sexual health clinic would be in order. They will have much more experience with this sort of problem. If they can't help you, they will know who can.

I hope your problem gets sorted.

...by a doctor.

Right now...............

If my genitals were swelling and in pain, I'd be at the doctors within 5 mins and would not leave till I got a friggin answer and a cure.

Your problem is not that rare. Many pregnant women get them, but most resolve after delivery.

I just saw a patient a couple of weeks ago for this kind of problem. I performed a venous exam with ultrasound and was able to treat her with injection treatment (sclerotherapy).

I urger you to find a vein specialist in your area. I recommend you go to phlebology.org, the website for the American College of Phlebology. This is an organization of health caregivers who deal with vein problems.

I hope this gives you hope and some relief.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mike

But the OP didn't mention pregnancy, and it was made clear that no examination took place, it's probably better to resolve exacty what the problem is before recommending specialists.

I think this thread`s about exhausted itself now.

Advice have been given, and hopefully taken, Thread Closed.
