So, I have amply demonstrated my dimness more than once on this forum. Let me compound it.....

Just for the laugh, I tried to get into the ChatRoom - nothing, a blank window.

 

With a bit of fiddling I got some gross text and a lot of unwelcome computery-type stuff, no "chats", and no "buttons" like send, view or delete or whatever. What am I doing wrong?

Attached is a picture showing what you should see when the chat comes up.

 

Simply type what you want to say in the box outlined in red and you'll see it appear in the white bit along with other people's responses.

 

There may not be many people talking at any one time -- quite often the chat goes for an hour or two with nothing said. But say something and usually someone will perk up.

It's possible that you don't have JAVA installed, in which case installing a different IRC client would be a good option...
