Horizontally flipping my reflection? Possible?

Featured Replies

:) Hey guys,

Is it possible to HORIZONTALLY FLIP my own reflection without the use of two mirrors side by side? Is this the only way or is there an easier way?

Thanks

lol, yes but in real world conditions? Is it possible without two mirrors? :)

Use a single curved mirror. This works best (least distortion) when the curvature is limited to a small portion of the mirror (for example, a 90 degree bend in the middle of the mirror).

i use a web cam(well, DV camera but same principle but with better resolution) in the real world.

Any other ways of accomplishing th SAME thing, but with a normal mirror? I doubt it, but I was just wondering if it was possible!

an even number of mirrors is the only arrangement that will work in that case.

Ahhh ok... Hmmm I thought to myself... THERE HAS TO BE A WAY... But obviously not... Hmmm damn! Thanks for the replies so far guys!:)

What exactly do you mean by horizontally flipping your reflection? Horizontal with respect to the mirror surface (left-to-right)? Or horizontal from your persepctive (front-to-back)? Judging by the posts, you meant left-to-right, but I thought I'd ask. Why? Just curious.

Could a mirror based on a material with a negative index of refraction possibly work?

if there is a table underneith it than just lie down on it and then you will be horizontally changed reletive to how you were before.:D
