Easiest Ways to Completly memorize the periodic table

Featured Replies

my physics homework is to memorize the periodic table (including all the symbols) and in groups.

Is there an easier way to do this? :D

I like the tune of that song.

How about just using the symbols. It always helped me. But i nevr had to learn the whole thing though.

i just memorized them by atomic number. nothing really interesting or easy. i just did it.

you have to memorise ALL of it!?

that`s a bit rough! :(

we only had to do the 1`st 20 elements, even now I could probably only fill in about 80% of a blank periodic table and I use it daily!

maybe it would be an idea to make up a "Story" using these mnemonics to represent words, and then memorise the story (the more Vivid it is, the better memorised it will be).

and as you write this story, go with your 1`st instinct as to what the word for the element should be, try reading it out loud a few times as well.

other than that, Good Frakin` luck dude!

You can easilly memorise groups.

Group 1 (metal alkalis)

Group 7 (halogens)

Group 8 (inert gases)

Then you will have about 20% memorised.

Then Do most of group 2 and 6 (because its has all the important elements including Oxygen and calcium)

The big bulk of transition metals in the middle is not really worth knowing.

As long as you know the main ones - Iron, Magnesium etc - that will be ok.
