Taiwenese Researchers Breed Glowing Pigs

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Pigs may not be able to fly just yet, but at least three of them glow. Taiwanese researchers said Friday they have bred the pigs with a fluorescent material in a move they hope will benefit the island's stem cell research effort.

Wow thats a pretty weird way to help stem cell research. I guess it could be used as an indicator and see how stuff works. They look strange..

It's a very good tracer for cell lineage. We use GFP+ mice - it's very weird. All their organs have a greenish tint, and they of course glow under UV light.

Would be hard to sleep like that.

I can fall asleep whenever i want most of the time. i guess i would just get used to it.
