What is with the religious symbols of the link of the Babylon and statue of liberty?

What is with the religious symbols of the link of the Babylon and statue of liberty? Why are some people saying the statue of liberty is symbolism of Babylon?

Saying the fall of Babylon is saying it is going to be like this in New York city? Saying Babylon fell because of sin and vice.

Because some people are crazy.

Quote

Augustine compared the City of God (symbolized by Jerusalem) with the City of The World (symbolized by Babylon). Both these cities had identical aims - justice and peace - but one (Jerusalem) was motivated by love of God and the other (Babylon) by self-love. The City of God was considered a standard text for the relationship between Church and State.

The quotes are from my notes from the section on The City of God in the book An Illustrated Brief History of Western Philosophy by an Anthony Kenny.
