role of sociology in psychology

Featured Replies

As a student of psychology, why we study sociology?

I recently started my university life and my major is psychology..so it would be better if someone could elaborate it..

How better to understand the individual mind than by setting context around what happens when many minds come together and interact?

that's for you to find out in your studies, no shortcuts.

Psychology is the study of how the mind works and what goes on in a person's head. To me, psychology is a personal study offering insight into the human mind as an individual entity. Whereas, Sociology is a study of how we think as a society. It dwells into human relationships, community living etc. Since society is a collection of human minds, I can totally see how sociology  is related to psychology.
