Proof that Nature is stranger than Fiction

Featured Replies

Interesting and some nice pics as well.

I think I have observed a similar phenomenon just not as dramatic. I spend a week at the same condo in Destin Florida every summer for the past 25 of them. Sometimes it is very shallow many meters into the ocean and sometimes it drops off very quickly.

Every winter  our beach disappears into the sea  (not completely ,it just drops away (a metre or so) so that the rocks and the pebbles are shown up  near the shore).

The sand comes back in the Spring or the Summer.

It is more marked after heavy storms. Old  buried trees are also revealed. I have no idea how old they are.

Hello Outrider and Geordie, and thanks for the comments etc.

@geordie, I'm still trying to put pen to paper for your next installment. Won't be long now.
