try googleing electrolysis and water, should be some commercial products that come up. I bet that they would be called by the right thing.

Hoffman apparatus is classic device to explore water electrolysis.

Yes indeed !! With two taps, one for hydrogen and one for oxygen. Beautiful apparatus, but expensive :-(

electrolytic cell?

 

For some reason that sounds very correct.

I always just called it a water splitting thing-a-ma-bob. :D
