  1. The first set of high-resolution data on Earth’s magnetic field from ESA’s Swarm mission will be unveiled at a conference in Copenhagen, Denmark on 19 June. http://www.esa.int/For_Media/Press_Releases/Call_for_Media_first_results_from_ESA_s_Earth_s_magnetic_field_mission
  2. Guess who, pic 2, Salvador dali. Salvador Dali was born on 11th May 1904 in Figueres, Spain. His brother, also called Salvador, had died nine months before Dali was born. Dali, encouraged by his parents, believed he was the reincarnation of his brother, and this theme is sometimes featured in his work. Salvador went to drawing school and the first exhibition of his work (a series of charcoal drawings) took place in 1917 (organised by his father). Dali’s mother died in 1921 of breast cancer. Dali was just sixteen and was severely affected by his mother’s passing. Dali moved to Madrid to study at the School of Fine Arts. He experimented withCubism, and also gained a reputation for being a bit eccentric. He was expelled from the School of Fine Arts for his role in causing ‘an unrest’, and he visited Paris, meeting Pablo Picasso. Dali joined the Surrealist group in the Montparnasse quarter of Paris. He painted The Persistence of Memory, one his most famous works, in 1931. It features the classic surrealist image of the melting clock. Dali and his wife, Gala, moved to America to escape World War 2. They lived there for eight years. He returned to Paris after WW2 and began to experiment with other forms and different techniques. He used optical illusions and visual puns, and he became interested in mathematics and science – particularly the structure of DNA. Dali designed the Chupa Chups logo. Dali died of heart failure on 23rd January 1989. He was 84. Several images often appear in Dali’s surrealist paintings. These include: melting clocks, elephants, eggs, ants, snails and locusts. Salvador Dali produced more than 1500 paintings in his lifetime. He also created numerous drawings, illustrations, sculptures, short films, books and lithographs.
  3. I have only just come across this thread, But I feel I could have wrote everyone of your posts in this thread, I completely agree with your train of thoughts.
  4. Wrong, He was not a scientist, But had an interest in science.
  5. Correct on top one "Einstein", Wrong, but i thought it looked like lincoln
  6. What got me was the statement "Ireland is "considering" an investigation", If this was done by any other group/company it would be investigated without a second thought, And those found guilty punished, Whether or not their "employees" were dead or alive.
  7. Well done I was unsure how to move "inspect element" or change element name, But still an idea, perhaps famous people? easy one here. or this one?
  8. I noticed on another forum, They play guess what this is, and post varying items and views, and any one can have a guess. without using google search for this image, Some people post pictures from their homes which they have taken themselves, or pictures they have came across.
  9. Between 50-90yrs, there will be plenty of the nuns alive from 50-60years ago, I do not believe this could have been done without the higher hierarchy of the church knowing, I admit that was a bit of a "blanket statement", but it seems most religions start out with good intent, But get corrupted by those who interpret the laws of god as they believe. Most wars/terrorists attacks have been fought by those who believe they are doing gods work,
  10. May not be the place to post, Just seen this in news, 800 children found in mass grave(sewage tank) in home run by nuns, https://uk.news.yahoo.com/irish-catholic-church-says-horrified-childrens-mass-grave-072303452.html#Rt3hFnx These nuns/church need to answer for this atrocity, the same as war criminals, Nothing good ever comes of "organised religion".
  11. Perhaps "soylent green" is the way to go, As some have mentioned those poor Americans, "largest obese nation", Why not save on funeral fees and taken your departed to your local butcher, I am sure this would help to relief the suffering of many creatures, We should should try and make a change, At least for the sake of our children. Many pigs/sows are kept in cages they cannot even move, impregnated until they can no longer give birth then slaughtered, Why do we hide this behind closed doors? So we can all turn a blind eye and enjoy your bacon sandwiches. I am not preaching, "Supply and demand", When more of us demand a vegetarian diet, The food industry will react to that demand and supply a veggie option that will come down in price with that demand. You cannot force this vegetarian life style on others, But each who make this choice will relieve the suffering of these and many other animals.
  12. I have read about "relic neutrinos" that are the size of the expanded universe, What would these speeds mean to a neutrino the size of universe? http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/06/090602-particles-larger-than-galaxies.html Does the universe exist within a neutrino?
  13. It's more to do with the vessel, Remove lid from bottle, Water evaporates as a gas leaving an empty vessel. We are mainly a (oxygen) gas-liquid in a pressurized state, We are walking talking gaseous "universes" held in a vessel under pressure. Release that pressure and we break down into each separate state. My mum said i started with a big bang , I quickly expanded to who I am know, A UNIVERSE WITHIN A UNIVERSE.
  14. I have been a veggie for many years, The thought of taking a life to feed myself repels me, I can go to any shop and purchase the protein i need without a life being taken, I understand this is not the case the world over and some "have to eat meat to survive" (same as an animal cannot go to a supermarket, Being a veggie is a "conscious choice for me", I am "lucky enough" to be able to choose, Most here have this freedom of choice. Only when enough of us make this choice will anything change, There is always another way. I do believe our descendants will look back at these times in disbelieve that we where still eating the flesh of fellow creatures (When we had a choice). PS find a fly or bee in your sink water it is not dead, just in shock, Fish them out and life returns to them.
  15. Cheers just fixed "glitch".
  16. REWIND ABOVE PICTURE, YOU WILL GET TO A POINT. The further you expand to higher primes, The less ordered it becomes. I Cannot help but think this reminds me of the expansion of universe, Starts from a point and expands outwards, Order within the chaos. THIS MAY BE MOVED TO SPECULATION, Which i am ok with as I am speculating. The "Point" in primes is one, Every number then expands out from within one as I have tried to show below. I have used triangles joining 2 then four, for each stage.
  17. Never knew there where so many ways to view primes(interesting), I noticed different prime triangles https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=prime+triangles&safe=off&es_sm=93&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=fxeNU9fWKqXn7AbplICgDA&ved=0CEYQsAQ&biw=1152&bih=723, Had a quick go putting a couple together, Only from 1 to 105, then doubling 1 to 210, early days yet, https://alphaomegadotme.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/prime-triangles.xls
  18. Thank you for explanations, Something else I have learnt today, (including abundant and perfect numbers). I have been looking for something I could think on for a while, Perhaps I will look for that "complete knowledge of primes". "fools rush in" .
  19. I have little math, But i came across this fact about prime numbers which i thought was interesting and worth a share, Most properly old to those with math, 23X23=529 =(24X22)+1 29X29=841=(24X35)+1 31X31=961=(24X40)+1 37X37=1369=(24X57)+1 41X41=1681=(24X70)+1 I was wondering if there is any sequence to this? Between the multiples of 24? A little find like this to me, brings a new interest and lets me explore where i would otherwise perhaps never go. So my first thought was 3x24 -1=73, So i googled 73 , 73 is an emirp, meaning that the reverse of 73, that is, 37, is also a prime number. Interestingly, 73 is also the 21st prime number while 37 is the 12th prime So i now know about "emirp" numbers, I know this is basic stuff, But we all learn something new everyday.
  20. Teleportation could one day be the answer, Once the advances come that quantum computers will bring, We may one day in the "not to distant future" teleport minerals straight from the planets/asteroids to any location we choose. We are no where near this yet but teleportation will never go away, One day it will be as common as normal transportation.
  21. I watched this on netflix last night, There is a lot of science to this molecule, It can be found almost everywhere in nature also within us, I hope that they carry on studying Dmt as it seems it is so abundant in nature for a reason. Well worth a view when you have the time. youtube link removed
  22. Just ask swansont, He seems to have no problem using the neg/rep button, Look what we have done to his poor finger
  23. Cool little craft. SpaceX Dragon V2 | Unveil Event with Elon Musk Meet SpaceX's Dragon V2 spacecraft, the next generation spacecraft designed to carry astronauts to Earth orbit and beyond. Heres the video link, as i cannot post video. http://youtu.be/yEQrmDoIRO8 Uses printed engines.
  24. I completely agree with you, Without all the science that as gone before, Myself and many others would still be looking at the stars thinking "Gods", I can only think what i think now, By looking at the live works of many great scientists, But this as only been able since the "internet" For most of us, We as a species are great at finding patterns in almost anything, Sometimes this will lead to a new discovery or in most cases just a interesting similarity. One example where the power of the internet/"Pattern recognition". Allows anyone without any real knowledge of a subject to help advance a particular science. DESIGNING RNA molecules http://eterna.cmu.edu/web/ I am afraid i have very little math, but i do understand most of the math i read(to a degree), I know this restricts me in many areas of conversation in these forums, So many of my ideas never will see the light of day, Which i expect most will say good .
  25. Did/Do we create ourselves/universe, Do we live within one of these collisions Or a future collision from next stage collider? Cern Hadron Collider The beams travel in opposite directions in separate beam pipes – two tubes kept at ultrahigh vacuum 10-6 mbar,. They are guided around the accelerator ring by a strong magnetic field maintained by superconducting electromagnets chilling magnets to 1.9k/-271.3 degrees c. Magnets create the magnetic fields in our universe, We create the vacuum of "space/particle collectors", We cool space, We supply the energy needed to create "big bang" by accelerating particles, supplying energy to particles/"electrons".
