The boy stood on the burning deck: The Deck was made of brass: He did a double somersault And landed on his arse: unknown: It implies that. Like I said, good and bad exist in every society. Going back on your little ditty, tell me why would no jails equate to no criminals? If of course we had no criminals, then obviously we would not need jails. Instead we have jails, because we have criminals. No, I'm speaking as any normal person would in any reasonable society and even unreasonable. We all have Bosses and obey necessary authoritive figures every day of our lives. I interpret criminals as those that do what is against the law, or against the morals of that society. If we talk about twisting words, then you need to look into a mirror. But you already know that I suggest. That's essentially the way I saw it also. My points were that no jails does not mean no criminals or wrong doers; And because you have no locks or keys, does not mean you have no thieves. And thirdly just because a man is given a horse and blanket, (an admirable plus of course in any society) does not mean that he is a law abiding, morally correct person within that society.

😅Gee dimreeper, I know you can do so much better! I mean that besides being irrelevant, is so wrong, even I can dismantle it sentence by sentence. Let's just start with the "impression"that there were no bad Indians? Like I said, sentence by sentence.

You may not be lying per se, but you are being highly selective. We all have Bosses in any westernised or any society in general, despite that offending your obvious (now) philosophical position. But like everything else, you, me and the members here, scientists, teachers, doctors lawyers, Indian chiefs, we have the good and the bad in all. Including Bosses. By virtue of being a part of that society where we all have Bosses to some degree all the time. We are all told how we should behave according to that society, every day of our lives, despite that obviously offending your philsophical position. You are a part of society? Never said I need one, as I have reasonable moral values that I chose to follow without authority, but yes, I have them in many theartres of everyday living, as do you.

Why do you personaly, (despite what you claim) have Bosses? Most though when debating sensibly, and fairly, know that we all have bosses or higher authorities that make laws that are needed to control what we do. Even you if the truth be known

There you go again. 🥱 My full statement was "You need to answer the questions more directly...and with more honestly in asking them." You know, stop asking questions you already have the answers to, or have already been given to you. You need to answer the questions more directly...and with more honestly in asking them. Page 3, just some of your usual, mostly as I see it, like "show me". Have you? Good for you! Antarctic sea-ice expansion in a warming climate:
Thanks for that. It appears we have still much to figure out. An important extract from your link....... "It’s the latest event in a puzzling trajectory for Southern Ocean sea ice. For most of the satellite record, beginning in the 1970s, Antarctic sea ice was actually expanding. That’s in stark contrast to the trend at the other end of the world, where Arctic sea ice has been swiftly declining for decades in response to global warming. But beginning around 2014, the pattern abruptly reversed. Antarctic sea ice started shrinking rapidly. It hit a record-low minimum in 2017, rebounded slightly around 2020, and then plummeted to another record low in 2022. These trends have perplexed Antarctic scientists, who are still debating the exact causes. Many experts believe natural climate cycles have probably played a large role. The recovery of the infamous Antarctic ozone hole, which has been gradually healing for the last three decades, may have also had a hand in things. Some studies suggest that the closing of the ozone hole has influenced wind patterns in the Southern Hemisphere, which in turn can affect the movement and behavior of Antarctic sea ice. And human-caused climate change may have also played a part in recent events, although its exact effect is still uncertain. Unlike the Arctic, where warming has had a clear and devastating long-term influence on sea ice, conditions are more complicated in the Antarctic. The Southern Ocean is much more vulnerable to the impacts of other natural climate fluctuations, which don’t always have the same kinds of effects as human-caused warming. For now, climate change may not be the strongest influence out of all the elements affecting Antarctic sea ice. But eventually, as the world continues to warm, it’s likely to become a more dominant factor". LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL I also found this....................... https://www.climate.gov/news-features/understanding-climate/understanding-climate-antarctic-sea-ice-extent#:~:text=Overall%2C the long-term trend, trends have been statistically significant. Overall, the long-term trend in Antarctic sea ice is nearly flat. The satellite record spans over four decades, and although the ice has shown increasing and decreasing trends over portions of that record, few of those trends have been statistically significant. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: and this................................ https://www.antarcticglaciers.org/glaciers-and-climate/changing-antarctica/antarctic-sea-ice/ Last updated 02/06/2021 Increasing Antarctic Sea Ice: Characteristics of Antarctic sea ice The Antarctic continent is surrounded by seasonal, floating sea ice. This sea ice, which comprises mainly frozen sea water, with occasional icebergs from glaciers and ice shelves, covers a minimum of 3×106 km2 in February to a maximum of 18×106 km2 in September. This effectively doubles the size of Antarctica in the winter. Most of the summer sea ice stays in the Weddell Sea, where it is relatively protected from the ocean currents. Summary: Antarctica is a unique environment, and the complex interactions between ice, ocean and atmosphere have led to a unique set of circumstances that have resulted in sea ice growth. It may be explained by many factors, or most probably by a combination of several. Climate change is a complex process governed by multiple feedbacks between different parts of the system; complex interactions between the melting land ice and ice shelves fringing the continent and changes in wind stress are all implicated in controlling Antarctic sea ice extent. Further, more work is required to ascertain the reliability of observations of sea ice increase given the recent discovery of an error in the algorithm used to quantify and map sea ice over the last few decades.

What choices does the world need to make to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius?
https://phys.org/news/2022-04-choices-world-global-degrees-celsius.html When the 2015 Paris Agreement set a long-term goal of keeping global warming "well below 2 degrees Celsius, compared to pre-industrial levels" to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, it did not specify how its nearly 200 signatory nations could collectively achieve that goal. Each nation was left to its own devices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in alignment with the 2 C target. Now a new modeling strategy developed at the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change that explores hundreds of potential future development pathways provides new insights on the energy and technology choices needed for the world to meet that target. Described in a study appearing in the journal Earth's Future, the new strategy combines two well-known computer modeling techniques to scope out the energy and technology choices needed over the coming decades to reduce emissions sufficiently to achieve the Paris goal. more at link.................... the paper: https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2021EF002239 Representing Socio-Economic Uncertainty in Human System Models Abstract: Socio-economic development pathways and their implications for the environment are highly uncertain, and energy transitions will involve complex interactions among sectors. Here, traditional Monte Carlo analysis is paired with scenario discovery techniques to provide a richer portrait of these complexities. Modeled uncertain input variables include costs of advanced energy technologies, energy efficiency trends, fossil fuel resource availability, elasticities of substitution for labor, capital, and energy across economic sectors, population growth, and labor and capital productivity. The sampled values are simulated through a multi-sector, multi-region, recursively dynamic model of the world economy to explore a range of possible future outcomes. We find that many patterns of energy and technology development are possible for various long-term environmental pathways and that sectoral output for most sectors is little affected through 2050 by the long-term temperature target, but with tight constraints on emissions, emission intensities must fall much more rapidly. Scenario discovery techniques are applied to the large uncertainty ensembles to explore if there are prevailing storylines behind outcomes of interest. An illustrative investigation focused on different levels of economic growth shows many combinations of pathways and no single storyline emerging for a given economic outcome. This method can be extended to other outcomes of interest, exploring the nature of scenarios with both tail and median outcomes. Sampling from a Monte Carlo generated ensemble provides a rich set of scenarios to investigate, and potentially aids in avoiding heuristic biases in less structured scenario approaches. Plain Language Summary: Simulation models are often used to explore future development pathways and their impacts on energy, emissions, economies and the environment. This requires making assumptions about various socio-economic conditions, such as how fast populations and economies will grow, the cost of technology options, or the amount of fossil fuels available. Different assumptions have significant impacts on model results, yet analyses typically only test a few alternatives. Here, we develop and use probability distributions to capture this uncertainty. We draw samples from these distributions, run an energy-economic model hundreds of times, and quantify the resulting uncertainty in model outcomes, providing insight into their likelihood. We focus on results related to emissions and output from different economic sectors, as well as energy and electricity technologies. We also apply approaches to find scenarios of interest from within the database of scenarios. We find that many patterns of energy and technology development are possible under a given long-term environmental pathway (such as a 2C scenario) or a given economic outcome (such as high or low GDP). This approach can help identify biases in perceptions of what “needs” to happen to achieve certain outcomes, and shows that there are many pathways to a successful energy transition. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Any thoughts on the above? suggestions etc? Or are we too late all ready and simply need to grin and bare it, protecting and ensuring our survivability as best as possible.

You need to answer the questions more directly...and with more honestly in asking them. And I have answered that honestly along with links. None of that changes the fact, that our attitudes in general have improved and advances have been made. Certainly no where near enough with plenty of work and targets to be achieved. When you finally can openly admit that, is the question at hand. Again you seem to be more inclined with supporting an ego and an agenda, rather then being honest. When have I ever denied any of the extreme events you raise? And while you are improving your answers and their applicability and honesty, you maybe interested in the scientific article I posted yesterday.... We still have much to learn it seems. Thank you for some honesty anyway. As one who believes in standing up to bullies, rather then the "softly softly" approach, perhaps you need to address that to another more passive member. 😉 The same logic why we will always need police, courts, justice, punishment and rehabilitation.

It means exactly what I said it means, without any of your flagellation of your agenda. There are good points in both left and right political positions, just as there are bad. I obviously lean one way....You obviously need to learn much more about climate change and do away with your blinkers and personal prejudices, as well as the other things I have mentioned. like.... https://theconversation.com/the-world-has-made-more-progress-on-climate-change-than-you-might-think-or-might-have-predicted-a-decade-ago-171787 The world has made more progress on climate change than you might think – or might have predicted a decade ago and....to repeat myself...... What normal things are you on about? Some sure...adequate universal health care, achaic gun laws is another. The political election systems seem way over complicated but maybe that's just me. We have mandatory vaccinations in Australia in certain industries including health, that many see as extreme. And sure it's subjective, I thought I did say that. But more to the point, what may be considered as just and normal like adequate gun laws, which the right and the NRA view as sacrilege, when any move is made to contain those same guns, see such, as extreme....The examples of extreme left views and other rights considered normal possibly also have pursasive extreme elements and views held by individuals in certain orginisations. And of course as I have also mentioned political correctness, going from the sublime to the ridiculous is probably another. What you seem to be suggesting is that while the extremes of rights exist, the extremes of left do not. That probably contributes to my hypothesis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Far-left_politics_in_the_United_States https://www.forbes.com/sites/rainerzitelmann/2020/02/16/anti-capitalism-on-us-university-campuses-the-culture-war-is-fought-dirty/?sh=115af0b5c4b7 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Panther_Party Of course there are just as many extreme right wing orginisations also, the trick is recognising the extremes of both sides of politics.

ANZAC DAY:
https://events.humanitix.com/anzac-day-dawn-service-2022 Event description ANZAC DAY IN NEW YORK CITY Each year on the 25th April, Australians and New Zealanders commemorate ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day to recognise the sacrifices that Australian and New Zealand servicemen and servicewomen have made not only in defending their country, but in upholding their nations’ longstanding commitment to peace and security. To mark this special occasion in 2022, the Australian Consulate-General, New York will host the Dawn Service which is free and open to the public. ANZAC DAY DAWN SERVICE Date: Monday, 25 April 2022 Time: 5:30am arrival for a 5:45am start Venue: Vietnam Veterans Plaza - 55 Water Street, New York City Dress: Military - service dress or equivalent with medals. Civilian - respectful attire, please come prepared for cold or inclement weather RSVP: Whilst RSVPs are not required you are encouraged to register your interest. HISTORY OF ANZAC DAY ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand military forces during World War One. The first ANZAC commemoration services were held in 1916, in towns and cities across both countries, and overseas in London and at the Australian Army Camp in Egypt. Following this tradition, every year at daybreak on the 25th April, Australians and New Zealanders gather around the world to commemorate and pay tribute to all of those who have served in our militaries. We remember those who never returned, those who returned injured and impacted from battle, and those who maintained the home front. We acknowledge those who are currently serving around the world, and reflect on the commitment of both countries to peace and security. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: As an example of how this solemn day is viewed in Australia, at a recent NRL game, the pre game service was being conducted followed by the obligatory minutes silence...... :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: And before anyone accuses me of supporting this action, no I do not, mainly for the following reasons...(1) the moron breaking and disrespecting the one minutes silence was obviously quite drunk...(2) He was also a much older man then the bloke that attempted to shut him up with the bunch of fives. He was escorted from the stadium, fined around $1000 and will probably be now banned from all NRL games. The other bloke was questioned by Police but as yet, no charges have been laid.

Already answered in my previous post to another. Please don't quote me out of context.....I said.... And of course we have the agreements at the Paris Accord, and efforts in alternative energy sources, of which I have posted many articles on. Like I said, "some" progress...I didn't say "enough" progress and particularly in my country. So please be more honest with your questions, and avoid asking questions of which you know the correct answers for, but are blinkered by your own personal agendas, and finally quote me in context. https://www.vox.com/the-weeds/2021/11/5/22765434/climate-change-global-warming-progress-glasgow-cop26 The world’s progress on climate change Humanity has made some — not enough, but some — progress in fighting global warming. extract: Hannah Ritchie, a climate change researcher at the University of Oxford in the UK, summarized the big developments: “Coal is effectively dead in many countries. Renewable prices are falling rapidly. The price of solar fell by 89 percent in the past decade. Onshore wind fell by 70 percent. They’re now cheaper than coal and gas. To make this transition, we will need lots of energy storage. There’s good news there too: The price of batteries has fallen by 97 percent in the past 30 years.” ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Most of us agree that it is not enough, OK? Antarctic sea-ice expansion in a warming climate:
https://phys.org/news/2022-04-antarctic-sea-ice-expansion-climate.html Antarctic sea-ice has expanded over the period of continuous satellite monitoring, which seemingly contradicts ongoing global warming resulting from increasing concentrations of greenhouse gasses. In a study, published in Nature Climate Change, an international team of scientists from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and South Korea shows that a multi-decadal swing of the tropical sea surface temperatures and its ability to change the atmospheric circulation across large distances is in large part responsible for the observed sea-ice expansion since the late 1970s. Sea ice, which covers a substantial portion of the ocean surface in the polar regions, plays an important role in controlling global temperatures by reflecting incoming solar radiation. Decreases in sea-ice coverage, therefore, are expected to amplify greenhouse gas-induced global warming. Changes in sea ice also affect energy exchanges between the ocean and atmosphere, carbon uptake by the ocean, ecosystems and the thermohaline oceanic circulation. more at link........................... the paper: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41558-022-01339-z Antarctic sea-ice expansion and Southern Ocean cooling linked to tropical variability Abstract: A variety of hypotheses, involving sub-ice-shelf melting, stratospheric ozone depletion and tropical teleconnections, have been proposed to explain the observed Antarctic sea-ice expansion over the period of continuous satellite monitoring and corresponding model–observation discrepancy, but the issue remains unresolved. Here, by comparing multiple large ensembles of model simulations with available observations, we show that Antarctic sea ice has expanded due to ocean surface cooling associated with multidecadal variability in the Southern Ocean that temporarily outweighs the opposing forced response. In both observations and model simulations, Southern Ocean multidecadal variability is closely linked to internal variability in the tropics, especially in the Pacific, via atmospheric teleconnections. The linkages are, however, distinctly weaker in simulations than in observations, accompanied by a marked model–observation mismatch in global warming resulting from potential model bias in the forced response and observed tropical variability. Thus, the forced response dominates in simulations, resulting in apparent model–observation discrepancy. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Any ideas? I admittedly don't know enough about the orginisation to offer much more, other then to say it was simply to illustrate that the extreme left does exist, along with the extreme right. I won't argue with any of that, other then to say my example of the expatriot Aussie woman being shot, is/was due to the freedom of any man and his dog owning a gun, in America, and why the coppers may have such itchy fingers. Yes, accepted that this is more prevelant with black men, hence my remark, "That by the way, in no way detracts from the BLM movement". Interesting point...The Australian strict gun laws were actually implemented by a conservative centre right government under John Howard the PM at the time.

Ummm yeah, that's what I was saying. The extremes of the left, certainly include many well meaning, and desired agendas held by the moderates, and dare I say, also does the extreme right? The black panthers are as valid an example as QAnon. The moderates enveloping the desired politics like climate change, (speaking globally) is held back by the fear factor being pushed by the extremes of the right, sprouting the extremes of the left as examples of what may happen. Irrespective, some progress is being made, sadly no where near enough in my country. Health care is taken for granted in Australia, and while the present conservatives do occasionaly chip around the edges trying to make it harder, its universal benefits are now known and appreciated, and any party attempting to get rid of it, would be quickly thrown out on their ear. Other issues peculiar to the USA I'll let go, other then perhaps to mention that the unlawful killing of blacks, is probably also to do with the freedom of being able to purchase a gun with ease in the US, and why the police there have such itchy fingers. There was also a case supporting that hypothesis of mine not so long ago with a white expatriot Australian woman (in a US city) shot and killed by a copper (black copper) after she herself called the cops to report suspicious activity in her area. That by the way, in no way detracts from the BLM movement. Yes, I already commented on that.

ANZAC DAY:
Tomorrow is ANZAC Day, commemorated in Australia and New Zealand as both our nations most solemn day of the year. ANZAC is an acronym for "Australian and New Zealand Army Corps" and is a most solemn day for remembering the fallen in all wars in which our nations have taken part in. Ironically it does not commemorate some glorious victory, but an inglorious defeat at ANZAC Cove Gallipoli when Australian and NZ troops stormed the beaches of Gallipoli, only to be mowed down by the defending Turkish troops in WW1. It was the first time the troops from both countries were to fight under their flags. The day is remembered at Gallipoli itself, with the co-operation and good will of Turkey, a dawn service in all Australian and NZ capital cities, and a march of all surviving army navy and air force personel, and the descendants of those that did not return on that day of the 25th April...the old and the frail exservice men and woman, come in taxis, wheel chairs, some helped and accompanied by their grand children. All sporting events on that day commence with a service, the last post and the ode of remeberence. "They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condem: At the going down of the Sun, and in the morning, we will remember them: Lest we forget: The dawn serice at Gallipoli: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: More then a 100 years later, the crowds attending these services show no sign of diminishing. After the rememberence services and marches are completed, its a day at the local club or pub, for drinks with old mates, and the obligatory game of swy or two up.
