  1. I agree. We probably all know a few extremely bright people that just circled the drain and never acted on any of their incredible ideas. (Insert ubiquitous Edison quote here.)

  3. Exactly, Paralith's post covered this nicely.
  4. ^^ Why species haven't completely short circuited the reproductive process with masturbation. Or maybe some have and those lines 'spanked the money' right into extinction?
  5. I rub my eyes hard and I can instantly see the bruising...regardless of sinus passage congestion. When I get little or no sleep my eyes itch and I can sit there and rub them for a good 5 minutes ...in total, guilty ecstasy. Whether sinus congestion causes itching I'm not sure...but I'm 99% positive rubbing your eyes for whatever reason can cause bruising / dark circles under your eyes.
  6. Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much.
  7. The idea that politicians are furiously twittering away trying to reach out to their constituents and appear 'connected' when, I think, most people find Twitter to be a ridiculous, faddish waste of time ...strikes me as funny.
  8. http://www.genengnews.com/news/bnitem.aspx?name=63638555 "HIV vaccine regimen demonstrates modest preventive effect in Thailand clinical study. In an encouraging development, an investigational vaccine regimen has been shown to be well-tolerated and to have a modest effect in preventing HIV infection in a clinical trial involving more than 16,000 adult participants in Thailand. Following a final analysis of the trial data, the Surgeon General of the U.S. Army, the trial sponsor, announced today that the prime-boost investigational vaccine regimen was safe and 31 percent effective in preventing HIV infection. 9. I'm the same way...but as I get a little older (and now have children) I'm realizing that my energy is not limitless...I'm seeing 'the darkness at the end of the tunnel' so to speak and realize it's time to pick a topic and get some 'chops'...really 'drill down'...etc. I found this the other day while browsing design lectures and stuff. qn5GxE8k8ec Another one from ol' Bruce:
  10. Perhaps she could tighten up but chooses not to because she is tired of hearing you talk about the 'tread' of her anus?
  11. I had the same problem and the rock hard bits of dried flesh and whatnot (sinews?) were almost impossible to get off, even with sand paper. I'm guessing boiling it a while may work wonders.
  12. Embedding videos isn't available? Or am I doing it wrong? Thanks.

  14. A man dies and ( to his surprise) finds himself flying through space with God. 'Wow! Can I ask you a question God?' "Sure." "Many people say the Earth was created in one day...others that it took billions of years to form." "Yes my son well a billion years to me is like a second!" Man: "Wow, well what about material wealth God? What do all the riches on Earth mean to you?" "My son, all the wealth on Earth is like a mere dollar to me." ... "God, can I borrow a dollar?" "Sure... in a second." I got that from A Prairie Home Companion's Annual Joke Show.
  15. Sony Acid has a neat, FREE little trial version. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/products/acidfamily.asp You can do wonderful things with plain ol' Audacity too.
  16. A fool and his money can throw one hell of a party. Oscar Wilde and G.B. Shaw made their living pasting together one liners.
  17. Wow, you'd think a list of debunked Apocalyptic Predictions a mile long would simply sprout up with a few deft keystrokes but... this all I got. http://www.2think.org/hundredsheep/skeptic/old.shtml
  18. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113139754 " When Bill Sparkman told retired trooper Gilbert Acciardo that he was going door-to-door collecting census data in rural Kentucky, the former cop drawing on years of experience warned: "Be careful." The 51-year-old Sparkman was found hanged from a tree near a Kentucky cemetery and had the word "fed" scrawled on his chest, a law enforcement official said Wednesday, and the FBI is investigating whether he was a victim of anti-government sentiment..."
  19. Not to harp on this subject but sperm production slows down when the testes are full, right? Which should take a few days? For some reason this is not covered in the wikipedia article. Though I just learned that: " The etymology of the word is based on Roman law. The Latin word "testis", witness, was used in the firmly established legal principle "Testis unus, testis nullus" (one witness [equals] no witness), meaning that testimony by any one person in court was to be disregarded unless corroborated by the testimony of at least another. This led to the common practice of producing two witnesses, bribed to testify the same way in cases of lawsuits with ulterior motives. Since such "witnesses" always came in pairs, the meaning was accordingly extended, often in the diminutive (testiculus, testiculi). After a while, it was reduced to a companion to the penis[citation needed]. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Testicle
  20. Well....probably. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113159860 "September 24, 2009 Three different space probes have gathered evidence that the top layer of the moon's surface contains hidden stores of water."
  21. http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/injuryprevention/a/Ex_Immunity.htm Thats a small part of the article so I hope I can post it here. It was one of the first that came up after googling ' exercise and immune response '.
  22. Ah, Thee Holy Trinity of Sexual Olympics...well, brother, if you don't know then it just wouldn't make sense if I told you. Oh okay it's diving, riding & shooting. (not as wild as you imagined eh?) Anyway what about my testes hypothesis? Does that hold water?
