time, in a sense, what you do, who you are with, everything, over time. ie. if you are with a bunch of doctors, over time, you will become like them, sharing expieriences etc. with them, but if you are kidnapped, your brain washed, and brought up in a mafia gang, your personality will change, this is because: you will have no memory of who you are, nor your past expieriences which mde you who you are, consequently you will become a new person. the environment around you, makes you who you are...

what where you referring to then? light & computers, i made the assumption of optical fibre networking, cabling, and other methods, basically, anywhere where there is a wire, you can replcae it with an optical fibre wire, and have the data wizzed around at the speed of light, which seemed topical, but not what you meant? so what do you mean?

well it sounds like something is really buggered, excuse the language, i rarely come to a computer problem, which i can honestly say i dont have a clue! all i can say is: and this will be useful: what OS, operating system do you have? what have you done recently? e.g. editing registries, installing possibly dodgy programs, is there any chance you have a virus, from a new website, a friends floppy disk or CD, a recent email, with attachment... have you received any warnings from your AV anti-virus? or firewall? what firewall / anti-virus do you have? and are they up to date? when this problem started? with those questions answered, i may be able to give you some more answers! what i can say regardless of that is: run your computer in safe mode, use system restore, if you have one, depends on OS scan for viruses, if you can run your AV, check your network, if you have one for viruses and/or hackers, you may have been internaly hacked, ie. through your friend/familys computer, if you are on a network. if you have windows, i dont know about mac, you can re-install windows, without a format, maybe try that, although there is a minor minor minor risk of loosing some data, try it, before you format your HDD, hard drive disk. answer the questions, i reply again, and then, its up to you, chose an option, and hope!

ok, firstly, i apologize, i did not mean to offend you in any way soz, can we be friends now!!! i said, dont mix God and science because: God is a belief, where is the scientific proof that God exists, if God made the world, how, science says, matter cannot be made, nor removed from this universe, so could God make planets, people, anything? God is part of religion, based on faith, based on accounts of people from long ago, the world grew up on religion, multiple different ones, but where is the proof, the He, that all powerful one ever has, is or is going to exist? as for whether he evlolved or not, i shall try not to come back to this topic, after this post, unless someone else raises the subject, God if he exists, [we must take all views into account,] how He came into existence, how He does His stuff, we cannot know, the whole point of God is that He is beyond our human boundaries, maybe, we could become like Him one day, who knows, that depends on your religion, and that religions view, however, at this precise moment in time, when i post this message, we are not like Him, He is beyond our boundaries! that is my view, appologies again to NavajoEverclear.

well kinda, the qunatum entaglement link can be broken, but nothing is to stop it being re-former, yes, check out the link again, if you dont understand, post a reply to that thread, it needs to get back onto the main home pg again!!!!!! quantum computers are probably a long way away, but still a realistic possibility for the next 50 or 100 years! downloading at the speed of light is a very realistic, with fibre optics becoming more popular, the only problem is cost, fibre optic wires are crushed, compressed glass, i believe, although have never broken one to see, they are not solid galss! otherwise they couldnt bend, so when i was told they were crushed glass, it seemed realistic! if i connected my computer, to another, using a fibre optic network, with the expensive wires, and special router or hub, then if my computer could work at those speads, then yes, i could download at the speed of light! so you say: "but computers dont work that fast yet..." i say "correct" so i would download at the speed of my computer.... if i can install a 1.5GB game, in about 3-5mins, then i could download that same file, 1.5GB in about 3-5mins! thats mega quick, as normally, a single CD or 700MB can take hours to download! and thats half the size; approx! so as i have said multiple time, light speed computing, downloading, and computer connections, ARE VERY REALISTIC, if you are a millionaire!

i think that my view on this is plain, and straight forward, athough this thread isnt!!! we live in the 4th dimension, we move WITH it. therefore, everything we see, is in the 4th dimension, time, but we can only be in it at a certain speed, the speed of, one second per second! think of it like this, if you traveled at the speed of sound, and said something, that sound would travel alongside you, you would never either never hear it, as it would always be a fraction infront of you, as you speak forward, of, as it would be around you, you would constantly hear it, it is a theoretical thing, i cannot say which is true, but the sound waves, would be travelling with you! never changing their distance from, as you are all traveling at the same speed. in this way, we travel with time, we cannot slow down or speed up our progress in this 4th dimension, like we can in the 3rd, if we changed our speed in the 4th dimension, it would be time travel, but movement in the 3rd, is what humans call, moving! it is this ability to be in several dimensions at once, and have different abilities in each one, that i think has made this thread sooooo long, but as i have not read all of it, im not to know for sure, i just saw the subject, and knew what i was going to post!

a person builds up their personality over the course of their life time, so say, for instance, we take a physicist, who lost his/her memory, [anything, i just need any profession, or way of life] imagine that this persons whole life revolved around physics, all their friends were doctors, etc etc. then one day, thet lost ALL of their memory... they would NOT be the same person, as they would have lost all those yrs of building up their personality, who they are, but, their friends would still be real, all the doctors would try to get you to become who you were before, who they knew you as, you would be guided in the same direction, but ineitably, you are not the same person inside, you are on the outside, ie. who all your friends are. so its really a case of how the person reacts to everyone. i know someone who lost their memory, he's pretty much the same person now, maybe hes more into certain subjects, then he was before, but maybe thats him growing up, maybe thats a difference in how he built up his personality, whatever it is, it soon just becomes part of their life, they accept it, and move on.

well this will be interesting, last thing i heard, the USA wanted a world wide ban on ALL forms of cloning! and the US and UK are big allies, wonder what Bush will make of this, means a lot of advances in biological sciences in the UK though, which is good! we need some kind of new, amazing, scientific break through! hopefully this will do what everyone wants it to do, end some really bad illnesses, by replcaing the bad cells, with new, better ones, cloned from the same person, to prevent any rejection of it, from the immune system. keep a look out, this could be a big thing soon, if it all works to plan!...

Yes, instead of teleporting THE original one, they clone it, to another place, making a copy, but as matter can neither be made, nor destroyed, THE original is destroyed, therefore, we end up with a copy, NOT THE original, so whilst it is an identical copy, it is not THE same one!

whilsts it would cost too much to clone your pet, i say YES cloning is NOT wrong, i think! it only has uses and ADvantages from my point of view! if the clones are identical in every way, then good, you only cloned it because you like it, and if they turn out different, then it will be like having two different pets, just like buying a new one, so who cares! so long as you like pets!

damn, knew i knew what spike was, probably heard is in a lesson or something! im not very advanced at that kind of maths, whilst i understood what you said, please dont go into too much more detail, as you will probably loose me! and so what i understand from this website is that it is possible, to withstand an electric shock, providing, the faraday cage is of good enough quality, something which is more theoretical, and less practical BUT DOES WORK. so my next question is, [im endless question box in this thread!!!] is:- if you are sitting in a car, and it gets hit by lightening, are you safe, whilst the faraday effect does come into action, it is not necesarily all an electrical conductor due to glass and that it might not be totaly electromagnetically sealed around the door for instance other than that: am i correct in saying then, that a suit of aromour, all sealed? would theoretically protect you from lightening, however as the metal may not be of high enough conductivity rate, it might not practically work, but theoretically it will!

there is also a possibilty that silicon may be the bases of another form of life. just as we are carbon based: scientists say possiblt there could be silicon based life on other planets, that "the possibilty is there."

yeah, same, unfortuantely, unless you have a mega 5MB connection of something, then it is basically impossible that you were downloading at 2MB/s, so i repeat my question what internet speed do you have NSX? like a 512KB DSL, or like Dave's 1MB or bloodhounds 600KB cable?
