  1. do you guys need a hint?
Is the speed of light variable in each frame of reference?

Goat becomes gnat, but that's changing the second letter to the previous letter in the alphabet.

    Give me time.

  2. I agree that the adjudication in such cases needs to be able to take extenuating circumstances into consideration. While he did unlawfully restrain a minor, there was obviously no sexual intent.

I think many of the unlawful restraint laws are to keep people from trying to usurp police authority. People have faced prosecution for trying to detain a felon for the police. Cops don't like it much when civilians get involved, unless they are wrestling hijackers on planes.

I read a story today where they arrested a man who dragged a drowning person from the river because he was hampering rescue operations. I think it was because he smirked at the cops for calling him back before diving in to perform the rescue.

I think the biggest mistake the guy who grabbed the 14-year-old made was saying, "Come here, little girl."

  3. I still believe when it gets bad enough they will do something very drastic.
What you're suggesting would be cutting the throat of commerce in this country. "They" (the government) listen to corporate desires because corporations can afford lobbyists. Lobbyists will never push the healthy agenda because keeping you "consuming" is a huge part of the economy. Informed voters are the only thing that will help promote healthy choices for people.

Until we see what the next big energy form will be, it's almost impossible to guess the direction humanity will take. If it pollutes like oil, we're probably screwed environmentally. If a huge environment consciousness can be awakened and if we get off our fat American-like butts to back it, we may see energy that doesn't poison us and protocols which take our health more seriously.

You can bet safetely for a cyborg appearance: lots of gadgets and instruments implanted in different parts of the body
I can easily see this happening, what with low sef-esteem levels and the current craze with body piercings. Why just correct your vision with lasers, now you can scan in all spectra! Knee need replacing? BioKnees will help you leap tall buildings in a single bound (and 120 monthly payments).
  4. because science is very confusing to start at first.
And having your own "group" makes it less so?
should I call my new group = Welcome to science? or Introduction to science?
Both are misleading. How about, "Welcome to davepriority's Point of View".

    Truth in advertising and all.

  5. Religions are lies and science is very confusing to start at first.
This is not a good bias to start your impartial observations with.

Alright, so the science deal with what can be proven or already proven.

and religion deal with what didnt being proved yet.

So should I just call my new groups = Introduction to science? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/davepriority/

This is redundant from post #12. Please don't do that any more.

Religion doesn't deal with anything that can be proven. It relies on faith in what can't be observed or proven. Religion can't be proven right or wrong, you'll just spin your wheels trying. If you wish to be scientific in your thinking, you need to stop thinking in terms of lies, realities and illusions. Just read, learn and observe. Don't make hasty generalizations or conclusions.

And why do you need to start your own group?

  6. I don't generally cite quotes from other threads, but this is too relevant (and this is GD, after all):

My problem is that I am new to science and I am alone
And from your Yahoo group site:
I am a scientist, I am inviting you into that quest.
Just because you now believe in science doesn't make you a scientist. As I told you in the other thread (which you obviously ignored or rejected), science is not a religion with a congregation. It's believers are not called "scientists". Scientist in this case refers to a paid profession.

I get a raging case of the heebie-jeebies whenever someone starts using phrases like "path of reality" and "I ain't going to tell you what you want but what you need". Do you suddenly consider yourself to be some kind of prophet for science since you have found religion lacking?

Please write this down: "Faith" and "belief" are part of spirituality because they deal with the unobservable. Science relies on observation of that which is physically sensed. Even proof is true only until it's proven otherwise. No belief is required.

  7. I arrived to open the gates and was told "We`ve caught one of them" !!!

thanx to my Invention' date=' they got there in time to catch them at it, 2 got away but one was caught, he spent the night in a cell AND he`s 17+ years of age so prosecution and court is a certainty :)

some of my things were recovered also.

the rest is a matter of time and patience now.[/quote']Chalk one up for The Resourceful One! Way to go, YT!

u could always put a big foot trap for like a bear or somthin in front of the door :D .......after they step in that they wont come back i garruntee it
You'd go to prison for a longer stay than they would. A trap like that is illegal. Read the whole thread and try to keep up, please.
  8. My problem is that I am new to science and I am alone,
Welcome, we're all here for you, you're not alone.
I have been confused and fooled by many religions.

I choosed to turn to science and to forget about the other religions

First thing, science is NOT a religion. Spirituality deals with those aspects of life that can't be sensed or empirically observed. Science is concerned only with that which can be sensed, observed and tested. The two are not mutually exclusive and neither should seek to disprove the other.
Tell me what are the priorities areas of science that I need to go.
Physics is a good place to start, but there are no magic formulae or answers someone can give you without knowing you. How about reading some of the various forums here and doing your own research? Science and spirituality should both be about knowledge. Asking questions is important but listening to answers is better.
  9. BenSon and I have at least one thing in common, my name is Ben
And you chose BigMoosie because BigBen was taken?
I dont know what I was smoking at the time but obviously 5614 in base 5614 is 10, not 1.
If you count a lot in base 5614, I know what you're smoking.
  10. Ecoli is a secret agent just like YT2095. Except he used his exploding fountain pen at home recently and ruined his mom's hardwood floors.

I read all about this recently. While I was in prison.

    With yourdadonapogos.

    He snores.

  11. All good points, Pangloss, and don't get me wrong. It's the terrorism we've spawned in Iraq by attacking and occupying that has me upset. Al Qaida is there because it's the best place to showcase the injustice being done to Islam, from their POV. If you are an Iraqi displaced by the bombings and angry that your country has been taken over by someone you've been taught to hate all your life, you are a ripe candidate for an Al Qaida recruiter, even if you don't support their past actions.

And I'm reasonably sure we are taking some covert measures to insure that Al Qaida's funding is derailed. That's the problem with covert measures, they need to be kept from the public sometimes.

I simply take acception to wielding such a heavy hand in Iraq, supposedly against terrorists, when the more military might we show seems to breed more terrorists fueled by religious fervor. I suppose I contest it's effectiveness against terrorism compared to removing the funds and the emotional fervor that is keeping us over there for an unspecified amount of time.

  12. Wouldn't it make more sense for us to do something about IRA funding AND for you to join us in our fight against Al Qaida?
Maybe what we need to do about Al Qaida is stop fighting them and start doing something about their funding. Bombing them seems to make the flames grow. How about removing the fuel?
  13. That expresses my feelings exactly, In My Memory. Thanks very much for that.

When someone finds a button to push to get a reaction, they'll just keep pushing it. Pass this ammendment and you'll see more flags burned than ever before, and more people needlessly in prison.

  14. Nice of you to stop back by!

I rinsed the bleach away quickly and the stains are superficial...
In that case I would choose the least abrasive of the solutions we've given you here and start with that. You can alwasy go stronger but you can't go back if you scratch it all up by scrubbing too hard.
