  1. Ok, that Swedish BT provider has numerous seeds that can lead to illegal download/upload of content.... So, what I mean is, of course, the seeds and the tracker itself aren't illegal, but are the people who do this illegal?
  2. Is it true that Sweden allow people to download/upload illegal content??
  3. then why a bittorent site like elitetorrent is forced to shut down?? I mean, it only provides "tools" for people to upload/download. It is the people who download/upload copyrighted content is illegal, so as 5624 said.
  4. Ok.... So, I never heard of any bit torrent site got quashed in Europe... Are all Bittorents or any other p2p technology legal under most countries except in America??
  5. Ok, what i mean is, for example, my cousin is an American, and he got a fine because he exceeded the speed allowance on the high way in Netherlands, therefore he got a bill mailed back to US from the Netherlands.... or, if I kill a person in Germany, and I fled to England, then why British cop still persue me??
  6. I have a problem utilizing my Norton Internet Security firewall.... my eMule cant connect via TCP because my firewall blocks... I have set eMule to "permit all" under the Internet Access Control of my firewall... however, my eMule still cant connect via TCP, unless I switch off my firewall... Does any one have experienced using this firewall? and know how to resolve this problem?? thanks
  7. So, is there any country that apply US law outside America?
  8. what do you mean?? the FBI virtually can find them... and why dont they just send a letter to them and send a few men there to take their computer and shut down their site??
  9. We all know that most of the content downloaded from BT are illegal. And I have heard a new very long ago that FBI were persuing BT seeds provider and have caught a few, the most famous one is elitetorrents.org. but why, as you google, the BT seeds providers are just numberous, and easily found, why are those still existing, not taken by the FBI?? 10. Ok, thanks however, the reason I am overcomplicatin this is because: in Java, if you are dealing with parameter of the URL class's constructor, there are "host" and "file". the program will work, if you parameterize the string parameters: "host" by http://www.xxx.com "file" by /somefile.bla or "host" by http://www.xxx.com/ "file" by /somefile.bla however, it wont work if: "host" by http://www.xxx.com "file" by /somefile.bla or "host" by http://www.xxx.com/ "file" by somefile.bla any idea? thanks
  11. the bold line is abit contradictory to you people have said. I thought it should be, pub/files/ ??
  12. well, I think I dare not to click, I am under 18.
  13. I cannot really find any difference between these two... I have searched the google, but the answer is always obscure. Any one can depict a distinct difference?? Secondly, do you people know what is actually the difference between http://www.xxx.com/'>http://www.xxx.com/ and http://www.xxx.com ??? Thirdly, what is the difference between *.htm and *.html?? thanks
  14. btw, so you mean all .net langauges use dll?? btw, are all .net languages compatible with older Microsoft visual programming language? for example, visual basic, visual c++, etc?
  15. but how? JPQ?? All I need to know is what programming language is used.....
  16. Do you people know what sort of programming language yield dll to accomplish an exe?? I mean, normally, for example, Java, if you want something to accomplish an exe, you use jar, right? secondly, is it possible to see what programming language is used by "looking" at a software?? thanks
  17. Then why Prince Charles is going to be the next king, not me? to goodyhi11, if the person that cant afford a car is you, then you use your skill to earn and buy a car, and use your skill to become rich. I think most European, some Asian countries, and of course America do provide education for kids for free in case even their parents cant pay it. For adults, they have to earn for their living. The reason why the world is "unfair" is because every one is born unfair, the very first sentence of my post suggests so. Another couter example is why you are not born as a pig which is going to be slaughtered shortly??
  18. Ok, Now after I left my router off for a couple of hours, it works again. thanks for people's help
  19. I cannot do so. And for my router, restore setting is just like replug the power supply. The saving is still stored in the router. but I have not tried it yet.
  20. 5614, what do you mean try letting the router to tell my PC the IP?? If I set my computer to automatically receive IP, then the fields shown from ipcondig are always 0.0.0.0. from the router. This is why I cannot access the webbased UI. btw, it is your subnet that is 255.255.255.0. Interestingly, do you use a router that makes you have to assign the IP and subnet manually?? please help
  21. Ok, this is what I did not tell, I set the specific IP adress via the UI using the browser to 192.168.2.4, and I used the default subnet mask, when I was setting up the Access Point Mode. I have tried your way, Pangloss, but it does not work. I manually, on my computer, set up the TCPIP protocol not to search for an IP, but to use the assigned one. I did this: Ip adress: 192.168.2.4 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.2.1 and it did not work, as I just said. Please, any more help?? thanks
  22. I have just bought a wireless router of brand Belkin, model #: F5D7231-4. It was working OK, when I set it up alright. However, a catastrophe happens when I was trying every function of it with the manual. In the webbased user interface, I enabled the so called Access Point Mode, which requires fields to enter, the Specific IP Adress and the Subnet Mask. I thought it was to set a wireless access point sort of thing so I can access to the Internet wirelessly via a laptop, but after reading the manual, I finally realised it is to do "bridge" sort of thing. TO give you an idea, below is the phrase from the manual: Note: The Router can be configured to work as a wireless network access point. Using this model will defeat the NAT IP sharing feature and DHCP server. In Access Point Mode, the Router will need to be configured with an IP address that is in the same subnetas the rest of the network that you will bridge to. The default IP adress is 192.168.2.254 and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. These can be customised for your need. and particularly, the last step of enabling the Access Point Mode: ...3: Connect a cable from the WAN port (which is a socket on the router normally connecting to the Internet with a plug) on the Router to your existing network. Ok, the real problem is: I cannot access to my webbased User Interface again. When I check the IP of my computer, using ipconfig, all the fields are shown: 0.0.0.0 indicating acutally no connection to an existed network. usually, the default gateway is: 192.168.2.1, seen from the ipconfig command, which is also an adress to access the webbased user interface for the router via a browser. Please help!! thanks
  23. thanks to all you guys helping me. I have learned. To Newtonian, what do you mean the files are infected?? by what? Any way, I have rescued successfully most of my files and reinstalled. I also run some tests on my hardware. thanks for all the help
  24. To sulfuric acid, H2SO4, some files are denied and some aren't. You know, it is very random. To Pangloss, Are you really that sure that it is the problem of the harddrive?? Is it possible to assure that?? maybe with some kind of software? btw, any explanation about denial of copying files?? thank alot
