  1. I can only simplify it to [e^(ln3)+3]/e^(0.5ln3)

I guess you have to find out what ln3 is and 1/2ln3.

Edit: oh nvm 4/e^(0.5ln3) since e^ln3 is 3.

    e^0.5ln3+3(e^-0.5ln3)=[e^ln3/e^(0.5ln3)]+[e^0/e^(0.5ln3)]=[3/e^(0.5ln3)]+[1/e^(0.5ln3)]=4/e^(0.5ln3)

    substitute e^0.5ln3 for e^(ln3-0.5ln3)=e^ln3/e^0.5ln3 and e^-0.5ln3=e^(0-0.5ln3)=e^0/e^0.5ln3

Apparently, the answer is suppose to prove that it gets to 2 square root 3.

But i don't see how i can get such a perfect answer without trying to evaluate 2 square root 3.

  2. No' date=' the inverse function is not 1/f.

If f is its own inverse (NOT RECIPROCAL) and you know the graph of f inverse is the graph of f reflected in the line y=x, then surely you can see that the graph of f must be unchanged afer reflection in that line.[/quote']

I'm not really sure of f inverse means 1/f. I don't really get you. Because apparently, the graph is not reflected that all.

    Try this eqn.

    y= (3x+11)/(x-3) , x is not 3.

if you find its inverse. You would get the exact same eqn.

  3. Ya. I'm gene. Hmm... is there by any chance that i know you? because i got a PM from you, for a wrong belated birthday blessing. ha ha...

IN singapore we call it the O levels. Well, it is basically the same as GCSE. The full name is GCSE O Levels. So, Ed, what subjects are you taking? 16 this year i guess?

  4. you get an extra boost by being closer to the equater. basicaly, you have more centrifugal force, because you are going faster than say at the north pole.

Oh. that's is so cool. So, has such talks about space launches started between countries? It would be so cool to have rockets launched in Singapore !

  5. Which contains protein whereby a biuret test will show a positive result?

I know saliva contain enzymes. Enzymes are protein in nature but aren't there in minute quantities to be accounted for?

    Isn't urea made from protein?

  6. Because, in its domain (strictly positive Reals) it is continuous, and hence Riemann integrable.

i understand the domain being continous but i'm no sure with "Riemann integrable".

  7. Ok. Let's say that there is a given function y=f(x)

And if your inverse of f(x) is exactly the same as f(x). What can you say about the symmetry of the graph of f(x)?

  8. Ben Bova is writing some of the most scientifically illiterate and illinformed fiction ever. In addition his prose is dull, clumsy, and repetitive. I have never been interested in what happens to any of his characters (caricatures), and his plot, narrative fails to grip the attention. In short, he is crap. ;)

Well, his books are fantasy. Yet, i feel something for it even though the plot can be quite predictable at times. Reading it makes me wanna go space travelling tough.
