Hello friend I have been making KCLO4 for about 2 yrs now with alot of luck. The first 3 months were trial and error The best power supply I found that works good for me is a power supply form an old computer. I run my cells at 5 volts-15 amps and I get a good yield and (almost) a pure product after about 15 days. Running at these amps are OK but you must use a heat sink of some kind, so you dont have a melt down and you will have to add water about every2 days or so. I hope I was helpfull. I go by the name of Lucky,for various reasons My area of interest is in pyrotecnics,especially the manufacture of KCLO4.I have been makeing it for about 2 yrs now, At first it took me about 3-4 months to finally get it right. The old saying is (good things take time).Im only an ameture,but My process works good for me. If anyone has any questions,Please post me and I will be happy to offer my opinion. One note here; KCLO4 is a very POWERFULL! It will react with any Powdered metal out there. even organic properties. Thankyou and want to here from you

You can buy potassium chloride at any water conditioning store I buy mine at a local True Value 40 lbs for 20 dollars. And you can buy Potassium Dicromate at (The science store) online.If you use it in your KCL cell you will have to use Barium Chloride after your cell has done running to precipitate it out (Both chemicals are POISINOUS!! so be carefull I use it and I have my own way of filtering it out without a filter.Next time Lucky45 Merged post follows: Consecutive posts merged What I do in one of my many Chlorate cells to exaust chlorine (experimental only) is I have a little silicon hose (1/8th" diameter) epoxied to my cell lid flush to inside of lide and attach a fish tank air pump hooked up to it forcing gas out my main exaust tube which it vented outside. It works for me, Lucky45 Merged post follows: Consecutive posts merged Hi There What I do to dry my KCLO4 is to put it in a pyrex dish and set it on top of my oil burner for 3 days (mild heat) then I powder some in a granite bowl with pestal finally I put under a heat lamp about 10 inches apart for about 1 minuete note; BE carefull you dont have anything organic or Al powder in with it!!! Assuming your making your own KCLO3, from Potassium chloride, You can use Indigo-Carmine to see if you have Clorate. After about 3-4 days of cell operation If you do Which you will, Harvest your KCLO3 and filter out the remaining potassium Cloride, with ICE Water. As far as 100% purity, I really don't think it matters,But if your after KCLO4 (IT DOES!!) Thankyou LUCKY
