  1. Does anyone ever go on the chatroom? I can't get it working and I'm wondering if it's worth it.
  2. What about the particle characteristics? Like distinct energy level, changing that changes the wavelength, and intensity changed by adding or lowering numbers of photons present. Those are particle charateristics right? (I'm not too sure)
  3. Is is sensical the same as sensible? I'm confused.
  4. What would it be used for even if it could be done?
  5. In chemistry we did this one lab where we added different acids to different paper samples and they turned different colors. It was kinda dull.
  6. Ah yes the relationships. I'm hoping to start one soon and parties can be revitalizing.
  7. Oh, ok. I see what you're saying. At war it can't be murder because they're at war fighting.
  8. At war arn't most laws thrown out or something? Within reason. Like killing at war is ok but unrelated to war or not in war is illegal or somethin
  9. We do plenty of stuff considered immoral when at war. Bombs and air strikes seem just as bad. Or toxic gasses and stuff like that.
  10. I'm planning on majoring in electrical engineering and computer engineering or something of that sort. I'm taking physics hon this year and ap next year. Also, I doing calc ab this year and bc next year. What other classes should i look into. I'm in my junior year.
  11. As most of you know, NASA recently brought back stardust from comets and such. I thought it was pretty cool because my sister's physics teacher gets to go to Texas to be one of the people to examine the dust. We are fraternal twins (yes one boy and one girl) in physics honors but with different teachers. It's unfortunate because she got the teacher who teaches AP and she's more creative and I'm the science/math one. I'll be taking AP next year. The paper said there were five other teachers from Brevard to go. What do you think about the stardust? Will it reveal secrets about the composition of the planets and the orgins of the solar system? btw: I didn't know what forum to put this in so I put it in general.
  12. They also discover many plants which have pharmaceutical value. This is important and they keep finding more uses for them and we are just destroying it.
  13. I like the no show socks but I can't say I've tried tubesocks. All the guys at our school pretty much were no show socks.
  14. I made one once in flash class at school and it involved have a goto action to repeat some kinda of loading animation and some other action which showed how much was loaded, though I don't remember too much. There's probably a tuturial or how to online somewhere.
  15. yea i think i should make some more long term goals. im pretty shy so i dont talk to new people often and dont have too many friends
  16. ok thanks, I'll try that.
  17. I think that topic is still a big mystery. Scientists aren't even sure about the hypothesized gravitons. I read an interesting article about it, I'll try to find it.
  18. When i try to get to the SFN chatroom I get the error: Connecting... Unable to connect : java.security.AccessControlException : access denied (java.net.SocketPermission irc.blackcobalt.net resolve) What can I do to open it?
  19. Some parts of life just suck. What do you guyz look forward to in life? What keeps you going? I guess for me it's: family/friends sleep always helps hope for success in future finances, school, progress, etc proving people wrong who are ignorant and wrong
  20. I always thought the rainforest was interesting because we keep discovering new species of animals there. It has a great diversity of life we may not even know about. Then people who do not care just chop it down, its very maddening...
  21. Wow thats a pretty weird way to help stem cell research. I guess it could be used as an indicator and see how stuff works. They look strange..
  22. One part was talking about the redundancy of the mole, but it is pretty useful. When you look for the mass/weight of an element it is much easier to use it than one atom. It also has unquie attributes, such as being 12 grams in carbon 12, I believe. It is easier to relate the mass/size/amount of atoms when using a reference. I do not know about photometric units so I don't know about the candela. It also seems that with a little dimesional analysis you could derive all the units composed of s and t. This would save time but I still don't see how simplifing units could help unification any more than using a little more calculations in old units. Can you explain any other advantages? I'm a little confused.
  23. Very creative and.....um.....yea creative.
  24. That's a pretty interesting idea. I hope it will never need to be used but it's good to keep backup. I wonder if they can use it for anything else other than seeds if they had extra space. Who knows what else they could put in there.
