  1. Well that is what infinity is by definition. Infinity has Mathematical and philosophical questions and is much more complicated than simply following a line back to the past. Cantor did some genius work on this. He is a good place to start.
  2. And cyclic models
  3. I was 23. It was not that I was not aware of the stories, or that I did not have access. We were taught Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, why he was sent to us and what his teachings meant. All of it in conflict with modern scholarship at that time. When I actually sat down and decided to start from the beginning and read through it, it did not take long to realise I was reading the words of men only. It is far more interesting now I have ditched my faith. Richard Carrier is a very interesting and compelling scholar, he is also a mythicist. He claims his position is gaining ground. There is a debate there. Peter Williams claims the original Gospels can be retrieved, others disagree. Did Paul exist!? I watched a presentation on History Valley on that. I recommend that guy actually. Jacob from History Valley. I do not know how he manages to get top notch academics on his channel for hours at a time. Sometimes they are selling a book but even so we get three hours plus discussing the contents and there is virtually no interrupting from the host. Just quick questions. A good site.
  4. Ok. I remember him saying that for every equation included, the sales suffer? Or have a negative correlation (guessing here) Clearly I need to read what he covered.
  5. Human Evolution -The Origin of our Species. Chris Stringer 2014 Dawkins on the same subject. "The ancestors tale" is fantastic, you will need a note book. All his books stand up today. The Blind Watchmaker, Selfish Gene, Climbing mount Improbable. Abiogenesis and a few other things about life. Nick Lane. "Life Ascending."
  6. Surely no @swansont ! In Cosmology the landscape has changed regarding galaxy formation, also Gravitational waves, Dark matter, Dark Energy and the Hubble tension. Black holes! First one "imaged" in 2019, did they conclusively know they existed then? I can't remember how much particle physics was in the book but the Higgs was confirmed after publication too. Not to mention all the crazy deep field images from Hubble in the 90s and it's successor supreme, the JWST. Not "new" physics per se but a lot of stuff out there that was not expected. It's been a while but I remember getting lost on the boundary/no boundary part and the initial configuration. He mentions Weinberg's book, "The first three minutes," I read that at the time and the nuclear chemistry made sense. In a pop science kind of way! I'm under no illusions. Worth reading both again now. Budding physics students. The Leonard Susskind "Theoretical minimum series." Covers Classical Mechanics, Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. Physics guys on here what do you think?
  7. Yeah I mentioned that. Most Christians do not think the OT stories are historical. Scholars have a general consensus about where myth and history meet.
  8. The Bible has different views on subjects because there were multiple authors, most anonymous, writing in different times places over 100s of years.
  9. It is more likely to be someone on the thread who you are arguing with. I have been down voted for thanking someone, someone reversed it which was cool. I don't think I have thanked anyone since.
  10. I would not flood the earth, I would kill the wicked men cited in Genesis. The Nephilim are mentioned, giants or angels, whatever, kill those guys and leave the earth. If you think it happened as written in Genesis then you could not use science to fix the problems you would need a series of miracles. The animals survived without food or water. Co existed, stood close together, no fighting, territorial behaviour which is what wild animals do. Endured the same temperature for the trip, even though the polar species and Savannah species exist in starkly different environments. I could go on but after a while you be asking yourself, if all those natural laws would have to be suspended, why not simply kill the wicked and leave the earth alone? Do a Sodam and Gomorrah? Less effort.
  11. This guy summarises some of the issues. Yes, it is a YouTube video, bad form BUT in my defense. It is very funny. It is very well thought out.
  12. If elephants are "clean" then we have seven. An elephant's water intake can be about 50 gallons per day. That's 350 per day and about 130,000 gallons for the 370 days at sea. That much water would take up about 490 cubic metres. Cows, horses, Buffalo, giraffes, hippos, all the big ruminants plus carnivores will need a huge space for food and water. You would need most of the deck equipped to catch rain water which stops after 40 days. Once you add up all that mass and volume two things would become obvious. Not enough room. Not enough man power even if their was, how many staff does an average zoo have? With a tiny fraction of animals compared to what the Bible claims. How did they get it on the arc? Took their time right? No. Food spoils, you cannot stock up over a 40 day period let alone 40 years. It's the middle east! Anything you put on the boat on Monday, perishables, is done by Wednesday. They did not have fridges. It's a great story but it is not historical. History probably starts after the Babylonian exile. That's why some of the stories have Babylonian influence like the flood.
  13. Seems pretty straightforward. You are substituting different terms in the established equations for no particular reason. You did not want to derivatives but you have v/c, v is the derivative of x w.r.t. to t. Also what is c? Why not express that in terms of the fine structure constant? Why stop there? Your substitutions seem arbitrary.
  14. Durable yes. It freezes a lot though.
  15. No, just explain what you mean in terms of current BB Cosmology
  16. Not sure what that means.
  17. Yes but the posters who use them, think we cannot work out they have used it. We can. "Ok but I'm just using LLM to put my brilliant idea disproving Einstein into an acceptable format." Stay with us, you ate a good poster and I'm just a newbie!
  18. Modern Cosmology. Mainstream BB Cosmology starts at 10^-35 ish? Cyclic models are more complicated and some are infinite, no creation.
  19. Naturalistic Cosmology.
  20. More reason to stay, post and call Ai crap out.
  21. +1 for that. Avoiding war. Although my knowledge of philosophy is poor.
  22. One thing I have noticed however. If I select a quote, the quote option does not always appear. If I move the page up or down so my selection disappears, then move it back so I can see it, the quote option is there! I found this accidentally and put it down to my cheap Lenovo tablet.
  23. People also like scapegoats, someone to blame. Trump convinced the American voters that Mexicans were causing the downfall of American society first time round. The right wing UK press want to demonise immigrants and Labour are suffering as a result, it is working. Strange mentality coming from a country built on immigrants. I have a ethnic Pakistani friend who tells me he no longer feels welcome here and he would leave if he could afford it. it is pretty backward where I live, quite racist, except when they are getting cabs, getting takeaway or going to the hospital. "I'm not racist but...."
  24. This is done all over the shop in physics, you be writing out a lot of clunky equations otherwise. Einstein's tensor, Dirac's spinor, Lorentz's factor, h bar. You used v/c which you call beta, as a sub for dx/dt? Two things first you are doing the thing above and second v is still there even though you are not writing it out, dx/dt.
