  1. Recently I am experiencing serious psychological problems that I feel so stressed. I have talked to volunteers on the phone for reliefs, but my condition (primarily negative thoughts but not suicidal) persists. Is there any free or paid medical help or other recommended resources on psychological problems that can be conducted online? I have joined a discussion board but there are just too many threads, and too many people starting their own threads, but hardly anyone there giving any reply. It's just like a pin board in college that most people won't read, some may read, but then go, there is no discussion.
  2. I certainly don't believe that a 64GB iPhone that remains only 100MB of free space would make it shut down and never be able to wake up. That would be the world news if that's the case.
  3. I personally do not like writing with pencil or ballpoint pen and I only like to write with ink jet pen. Since I was a child, I know that only pencil and ballpoint pen can be erased, but not an ink jet pen. Recently, I only happened to find that there is an erasable ink jet pen, which sometimes even come with special eraser for it. I did never use, own, or even know that there was such thing when I was still in school. Can anyone comment if those erasable ink jet pens in the market are safe to use? I mean their chemical contents. Thanks for any comment in advance.
  4. Apple's official site suggests their users maintain at least 1GB of free space for best performance. In fact, as far as I know, iPhone's storage is a Solid State Drive, rather than a mechanical drive. How could lack of free space affect the performance of an iPhone? By the way, when performance is said to be affected, or not at its peak state, what does it actually mean? Does it mean it will more likely to crash or make mistakes or cause data corruption? Or does it actually mean probably causing a very short delay, probably less one second that we don't notice, but everything will work just fine?
  5. I do not have a new hard drive and I am not migrating the data now, but I want to keep everything original, yes, everything, the disk I backed up contains my system. I have done "Disk Backup" but not a "Disk Clone" now because I don't have a new disk now. However, I am worried that "Backup" alone is not a perfect copy compared to "Clone". Wish I am getting some experienced advice on this issue.
  6. I have only started to learn to create disk image/backup recently. I've downloaded AOMEI backupper and it is installed and runs on my system drive. I have created a disk backup (image?). In that case, if it isn't an image of my disk, what is the reason of doing this? Or in other words, will it cause any problem when restore? I did not use the computer at all while creating the backup and I unplugged the internet cable as well. Did it make a better backup/image?
  7. Thank you Sensei for your input. However, it looks a bit too difficult for me. By the way, I am using Windows 10, but not Linux. But thanks again. In fact, my situation and expectation are a bit odd, if not unusual. I have some software installed on my desktop computer running on Windows 10 that I want to make a perfect copy of them at a particular time. In fact, I should have created disk backup or image at that time, then I would have less hassle. But we can't turn the clock back now. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I have copied some folders under user data of the software I am interested in, which means I may be able to "turn back the clock", however, I did not copy the application. But I think I may be able to find out the older versions on many online sites. Now, the rest of my problems is, if I can just simply install the older version of the software and then use my copy of user data to overwrite the user data automatically created after the software is installed. As you said, there may be things like dependencies, etc. Would you mind me telling you the details in private conversation? Thank you again Sensei.
  8. I understand that this question may sound strange, but I have been trying to figure out how for about a month. Sorry, but I am not able to explain why, but I have my reasons. We know that when a third-party software is installed, its application is located somewhere in windows 10, usually program files (x86). Chances are its related files or data is located somewhere else, e.g. AppData I think simply copying the directory of its application and its data may not work. Is that right? I'd like to do this because I want to keep that particular version of the software, more importantly, I'd like to keep all its related data, but it is not supposed to be done directly through the software setting. If I want to perfectly clone the installed software and all of its related data, so that it should work perfectly like what it was when I move it to another computer. How to make such a perfect copy? Do I need to do something to the registry?
  9. Hi. I am very new to creating system image, I have some practical and conceptual questions about this issue. 1. I am running on win10 but I find that there is no direct button of creating system image in win10, but I will then be redirected to a title "win 7". Does it still work? 2. Is system image created under windows 10 (not a third-party software) 1:1? Will there be anything missing or changed for the image? Does it also contain the files / data created or third-party software installed by me? 3. One day, for example, one year later, I restore my system from the image I created one year ago. Will the new system time be the new time or the old time? I am not sure but I think it will be the new time, however, in that case, will it cause any problems to the software installed? Will the creation time and last edited time of the files remain unchanged or updated to the new time? 4. Last but not least, when one day, if Windows 10 is no longer available on Microsoft website, will I still be able to restore to the image I created? Thanks for answering.
  10. My mum has two sisters, all of their kids (so my cousin) look so much alike their father, and of course, their fathers are not blood related to my sister and me so our cousins don't look like us at all. On the other hand, my father also has two brothers, and his brother's daughter looks so much like my sister. I have this question in my mind for a long time, it's not subjective opinion, everyone said that and everyone will immediately find that.
  11. If a product that costs me $100 to make and I want to make 25% profit on it so I sell it for $125, later on, the cost of raw materials and production decreases by 20% but I still want to sell it for $125, in that case, what is the % of profit? In other words, I want to keep the final selling price unchanged, but the actual cost of the product decreases, how to calculate the profit %? Of course, $100 is just a number for illustration. I have many different numbers for real. Is there a general formula for that? Then I can apply more quickly.
  12. In other words, is it true that even a bluetooth device is cheap, poorly made by an unknown manufacturer, chances are it's perfectly safe to human?
  13. I understand it may be a stupid question but I am really not educated enough on science, and sometimes, I find that my common sense may be wrong. Could cheap bluetooth device cause a higher health risk when used for a long time? I'd like to get the most original wireless earsets but they are also the most expensive one. Sometimes there are many less expensive alternatives but I don't even know who makes it or where it is made. In addition, I have been hearing that bluetooth is linked to health issues like cancer. Could poorly made bluetooth device cause a higher health risk?
  14. My beard normally grows slowly and I like to keep checking, most of the time I don't find any new beard after 2 or 3 days of complete shaving. However, one day I was very stressed, angry and depressed and then I could find new beard only one day after shaving. I wonder if rate of beard growth largely relate to stress?
  15. Well, excluding marketing costs, related taxes, supply and demand, considering only the necessary ingredients and processes involved, is the cost of producing beer (not other expensive wine) usually (a lot) higher than non-alcohlic drinks?
  16. Generally speaking, is the cost of producing beer (which include cost of ingredients and necessary manufacturing process, excluding marketing costs.) higher than most of other non-alcoholic drinks? In my country, price per ml for beer is usually a lot higher than most of other drinks e.g. coke or other sugary drinks.
  17. From the medicine or clinical point of view, if a medicine will result in adverse effect for 2% of patients who take it, is the medicine considered to be safe, generally safe, very safe or risky? I know that there may not be an absolute answer to this question but I just want to get some generally accepted thoughts or opinions.
  18. When we say "sunlight fades colors" and "sunlight bleaches", does it carry similar similar meaning? How about "discolor". Is it only a different term for the same idea? There are different but contradictory results on Google. Is sun bleaching of clothes or other objects are physical or chemical change? I believe that it should be chemical change, because it is that the sun breaks the bonds and changes color of things. I'm not able to find out a general equation for such reaction. Is there any such equation? When the color of an object is faded or bleached, is there any end products during the reaction which would go away from the object? Is there any reliable sources of reading on web about such topic that you can recommend?
  19. I can always find expiry dates or "best before..." on the label of different household prooducts e.g. dish soap, shampoo, hand wash, toothpaste, laundry etc. It is usually up to two or three years. However, I really doubt, could chemicals expire in such a short time e.g. a few years? Or is it only the businessmen want you to consume it quickly and buy it again quickly? In other words, if I have some of the household items suggested above which have expired for a few years after the date on the label, can I use them safely and not very ineffectively?
  20. I have seen a lot of movies that when someone gets shot, he will then be sent to hospital to have the bullet removed, what if the bullet isn't removed but it is not hurting any critical organs? What would he end up in theory?
  21. If there is a wound which is contamined with a small amount of foreign objects e.g. cotton, tissue paper or metal shrad, etc, will our body remove it on its own if not treated. What is the steps or mechanism of such process?
  22. From Google search, a number of results suggest that carboard is a good heat insulator.
  23. or is there any actual RFID blocking material built into some kinds of leather wallet so that it blocks RFID more effectively?
  24. If something is stored inside sealed or closed paper cardboard and the cardboard is put under strong sunlight, is it usually good enough to keep the stored item cool?
  25. How is stainless steel product normally polished? On Google, I find that there are a lot of different answers. What is the most common way for the industry to polish stainless steel product? Is there any special machine for getting the job done? Normally what are the price ranges for those machines?
