Nice, Never heard of the CHEOPS telescope. Being a European project is another plus. Love reading about extreme planets, more intresting than the search for extraterrestrial life I think.

Not sure if this is relevant but...

The factory I worked in opened a plant in America, they sent one of our plant managers over for a year to oversee it. He was stunned at their working conditions. We worked 8 hours a day, 5 days a week with 35 days paid holiday. For the same money, they were working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, every day they would be asking for overtime. They got 9 days unpaid holiday which most of them couldn't afford to take.

4 years might sound like a lot of time, but if your working 12 hours a day with no holidays then when are you going to find the time to get your i.d. I imagine the cost would be a problem too, there doesn't seem to be much of a safety net in America. Those few dollars you need to spend getting there makes a huge difference if your already short of money.

But this really shouldn't be a problem in the worlds most technologically advanced nation should it. It's tragic really, I feel sorry for them.

I disagree with this. To me knowing death is unavoidable helps me put things in perspective, what's important and what's not. It makes me curious about life, makes me ask questions. It's a motivator to do something with your life, to not waste it.

Knowing the people you love will one day not be there brings you closer together I think. As I get older the thought of my mother dying is quite humbling to me, it stops me from taking her for granted.

Never said it was. There's more than one way to prove you're I.d. you know what I meant.

When I needed photo I.d. I filled in a form, sent a copy of my birth certificate and some utility bills and 3 days later my i.d. arrived. Took me 10 minutes, never left my sofa. Only in America would something so simple be so difficult.

In U.K. we just use birth certificates, passports or bills etc for i.d. Why can't you do the same in the U.S.? Seems like a simple thing. There's also this internet thing I keep hearing about, could you not just order one off it? not everyone has access to internet but most people do. Seems abit over complicated to me, unless that's the point.

looking at the current situation, I'd say having robots doing work for us would be an positive not a negative.

I'm getting out of my depth here, but where do our views about what sexuality is come from and have they always the same throughout history. If this was the time of the Greeks I'm sure we'd have a different opinion about sexuality, would we even view homosexuality as being different to 'normal' sexual orientation. 

Note- I'm going to leave further comments to people more educated in these matters for now. It is a very interesting subject though. +1

I think a lot of men lie due to social pressures. Even today saying your attracted to the same sex will result in a lot of negative responses. 

Maybe it's not so much men's porn, but more a natural response to seeing sex, a primeval desire within us.

Find them sexually attractive, but not necessarily want to have sex with them. I feel that way about some of the women I know (one of my Cousins if I'm being honest, but that's another thread).

I don't see why it people couldn't feel the same about the same sex.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. Not sure about full on sexual attraction but definitely an appreciation for the other sex, if that makes sense.

I think if there was no stigma attached, a lot of people who describe themselves as heterosexual would be more open to bisexual relationships. Think of the Greeks or Romans. Homosexuality hasn't always been frowned upon. Seems like it comes and goes depending on the type of society we live in.

I'm no expert, but you should be taking this very seriously. Gloves, masks, regular washing of hands, social distancing should all be adhered too. Granted, it's easier to say than it is to do, do you even has access to face masks and gloves? I don't nor can I get any.

The moderator Charon Y is a good person to follow on this subject. Very knowledgeable and informative. Try reading through the corona virus mega thread.
