Unless you are staring at UV-light or higher energy photons, the individual photons can't hurt your eyes, because they cannot ionise.

 

A large number of them can heat up your retina and cause thermal damage. The fact that the lens of your eye focusses the energy on a small spot increases the problem. For this it doesn't matter if you consider them photons, waves or field excitations.

Imagine you had a 1 way mirror. One way, light could move right through without a problem.

On the other end, it would be reflected at 100% efficiency. (obviously an impossible component at current technology, but lets say it was real.)

 

If you shined a laser into the box, where one end was the one way mirror, and every other side was 100% reflective.

They would bounce back and forth.

 

 

What would happen as more and more photons kept joining the box?

I don't understand what you mean. I'm very skeptical of it myself, give what I've heard others here say: that the right thing to say is that we have NO IDEA what's going on with black holes because the "singularity" is just a sign that our theory is incomplete in that regime.

So in the video, a guy is rotating a fidget spinner held in a vice grip, with an air compressor. The spinner spins so fast that it eventually explodes/ tears apart.

 

My questions is, what is the most probable mechanism to cause it to explode? Fidget spinners are mostly metal with a plastic casing holding the ball bearings in place.

 

I have 2 thoughts on the cause of the explosion. Either the plastic over-heated and just split apart, or it was stressed from expansion of the spinner rotating too fast.

The sun (or protosun) would be in the dynamic center of the rotating protoplanetary disk. Itself would be rotating in the same direction, because each item of infall would either have no angular momentum or else it would have whatever angular momentum it had until impact. This would be transferred to the sun (or protosun). (Of course, any item with some other vector of angular momentum would add its own energy to this.)

That was my first line of reasoning too, but the conservation of energy / momentum seemed more rigorous, and led not only to rotation but to rotation such that the solar day is longer than the sidereal day.

That will tend to make the combined pair rotate toward the east.
