  1. Can you provide any link to a serious scientific assumptions of that kind? It seems for now they prefer to talk about "misterious source of energy".
  2. How would you explaine evidence of geological activity on Pluto? It can't be explained by tides, can it be explained by radioactivity?
  3. Is it possible to fill human lungs with some liquid and viscouse substance which would allow only oxigen pass through it (easily), not any other atoms or molecules? I've read such experoments been conducted on mice who were capable to breath underwater with lungs filled with perfluorocarbone liquid. But what I'm looking for is to breath fresh air, not underwater.

  5. Principally, we can add Iron to any road we build, Iron is inexpensive. Cars can switch from wheels to magnetic levitation mode and contra when needed.
  6. Whatever is more suitable. Both adsorbants and absorbants can be used to store substances. Read difference in wikipedia.
  7. Is it possible to store propane in some kind of adsorbent to make its use completely safe? In my understanding this is a safety issues which prevent wide use of propane as a motor fuel? Will it reduce its volumetric energy density? How long time will it take to soak adsorbant with propane?
  8. I think creativity is one of the few fields which may never get automatized.
  9. I'm not sure it is a long term trend.
  10. Which occupation do you think is capable to create huge or almost infinite number of jobs in the future? Or unemployment will always grow due to automation and an eternal vocation is what majority of humans have to expect?
  11. Do you believe this problem can be scientifically explained without use of neuroscience?
  12. How modern neuroscience explains ability of humans experience feelings and emotions on the basic material level? Or otherwise, what do we need to do to make A.I. to gain that ability?
  13. What if harassers will change their numbers often? Usually it doesn't cost a lot to change a phone number. It would be a bit troublesome for a targeted individual to block phone numbers of anyone who dialed a wrong phone number and do it day to day.
  14. I didn't understand the last two posts. Who suppose to change or block the phone number and what for? A targeted victim? But a group of harassers will quickly discover his new phone number and everything will start all over again...
  15. What if some group of people who dislike some person will constantly call his phone number and pretend they made mistake and entered a wrong number? And in this way will block any useful calls to or from his phone? Police suppose to investigate a phone harassment cases, but what if people will always pretend they just entered a wrong number?
  16. Yes, but this is a radio transmitters. I don't think the same regulations apply to transformers or inductive Owens. Different class of devices. I found mention about broadband noise generators based on electric arc generators and zenner diodes. Could they be suited to have a small range?
  17. What is an "aerial"? Transformers create near field at 50 Hz and this is still near field regardless giant wavelength of a separate 50 Hz wave? Also I care most about 1-10 GHz range, MHz range is of lower priority.
  18. An intent is not necessary illegal. For example passive radio jamming is not restricted I think, such as using a Faradey cage, for example. I don't know how spark gap transmitter works, but I have doubts it is near field generator. More likely it is a far field and this is why police may get interest in it.
  19. I'm not sure. Plenty of household appliances can create an EMF interference. I don't think a legal organizations are commonly troubled with someone who posesses a transformer or Tesla coil for example. The most important it doesn't suppose to affect someone else, such as your neighbours, for example. At a few meters effective area this is practically impossible. I know they experiment with a wireless chargers and data transfer using magnetic resonance between two coils. It does have range up to a few metres. What can be done to make those coils to generate broadband rf notice instead of specific frequency? This interference will not affect area outside a few meter range in any case.
  20. Which relatively simple and inexpensive device is capable to create strong broadband EMF interference in a near field (1-3 m) zone? Approximately it has to jam any signal in the 1 MHz - 10 GHz range or so. Are transformers, Van den Graaf generators, metal detectors or induction Owens capable to do something like this? What about zummers or negative ion clouds?
  21. I think improved MHD generators could be more helpful here as they could be made flexy fuel and offer much higher power density than fuel cells. A much more appropriate thing for a helicopter.
  22. What is a most secure encryption algorithm or physical method which can be implemented on modern computers, for example smart phones? Or a method which can be implemented in the near future? It seems they can easily break even RSA nowdeys with help of an accoustic microphone. I mean a method which would not only allow secure communication between smartphones, but also make smartphone completely invulnerable to hackers? Is quantum cryptography now available for smart phones and could be more helpful than any other system?
  23. Can someone calculate approximate energy density of Al-Cl battery by VOLUME? Taking in account that There should be 3 times more Clorine atoms than Aluminum atoms to form AlCl3 and density of Chlorine stored in adsorbant may not be too big, I think there could be a problems with volumetric energy density of a whole battery.
  24. To TheRadiochemist: Why would it be clumsy? Sodium-Sulfur looks messy too, at first sight, yet it is one of the most successful batteries with 89% efficiency and 4.000-7.000 cyclelife. In Lithium-Sulfur and Sodium-Sulfur Sulfur is stored in a sorbent. So is Chlorine in Aluminum-Chlorine. What is the difference?
  25. Messy reaction and hard to produce? Why exactly? More problems than with Lithium-Sulfur or Sodium-Sulfur?
