For a particular system it isfound that U=3/2 PV and P = AVT4/N. Find: the third equation of state; U(S,V,N); G(T,P,N); F(T,V,N); H(S,P,N); α(T,P); κ(T,P);and Cp(T,P). I'm unsure of how to start, do I rearrange the equation for the parameters needed then put them together? Also the alpha kappa Cp parts have me a little baffled. Would I need to do any major math or simple algebra

i know Mid$, Left$, Right$, Len() and For/Next loop. I have 2 string values. I need to take the last character of the 2nd string, then first character of the first string, then 2nd last character of second string, then 2nd character of first string(keep repeating)... After i print the new string. For Example: "fire" "man" = nfaimre I'm stuck here. For X = 1 to ??? ????????????????? Next X

I've got an assignment on my data communications course, and I really can't figure out what my lecturer means. The exact text he wrote as the assignment is as follows: "Using our course documentation, and available information on the Internet, answer the following questions: During the past few years, broadband Internet access to private homes has been offered using several different broadband technologies, such as cable TV, ISDN, ADSL, VDSL, Wireless Broadband, Satellite links, 3G and 4G networks, etc. Using the textbook and the Internet, research and compare the following technical parameters for five (5), or more, broadband Internet access technologies: - …

Hi, I'm trying to calculate the phylogenetic tree branch lengths for some kingfisher species, but I can't seem to find any information on how to do it. Here is the tree I am looking at KINGFISHERS so if i were to calculate the branch length for Alcedo azurea (the 6th from the top), what do I need to do? What would the branch length for this kingfisher be? Once I have one, I should be able to work out the rest. Thanks!

I am working on a computer science assignment in the topic of analysis of algorithms and needed help with a few questions. One asked me to derive two functions h(n) and p(n) to represent the worst case of the two algorithms 1 and 2. Algorithm 1 is.... For this algorithm I got f(n)= 2(n+1)+1 = 2n+3 The second algorithm is... For this one I notice that the loop runs from 2 till n-1. If it was 0 till n-1 the loop would run n times. So does this mean the specific loop runs n-2 times? Is this relevent and should I factor it into my equation. Assuming this, I ended up with p(n)=2n^2+6n+4, does this seem correct Another question asked me …

Hello everybody I'm doing a school project on organic farming and I would like someone to explain to me the science behind organic farming. I have researched the methods of organic farming but I couldn't find anything that explains the science(with exception of wikipedia which I consider unreliable). I would be really grateful to anyone who is of slightest help. Thank you

Simplify the following, giving the result without fractional indices: [(x^2 -1)^2 * √(x+1)]/ (x-1)^3/2 Attempt at solving: There are no common bases to add the indices and no common indices to multiply out the bases so I tried this and got it wrong, please show me where though: [(x-1) (x+1)]^2 * (x+1)^1/2] / (x-1)^3/2 =[(x-1)^2 * (x+1)^2 * (x+1)^1/2] / (x-1)^3/2 multiplied the indices by 2 and got rid of the fractions =[(x-1)^4 * (x+1)^4 * (x+1)] / (x-1)^3 = (x-1) *(x+1)^5 By the book it should be : (x+1)^2* √(x^2-1) Thank You.

Help on Biochemistry (Buffers and pH) The buffer is 4 mL of 0.1M Tris, pH 9 undiluted. We will add 1 mL of 0.05 N HCL. What is the expected pH. I took the henderson-hasselbach equation pH = pka + log [base]/[acid] and plugged in pka = 8.21 and [base]=0.1 M and [acid]=.05 M and got a pH of 8.51 but apparently that was wrong. The answer is 8.65. I have no idea how to arrive at 8.65. I'm guessing you have to take into account the 4 mL and the 0.05 N HCL, but I don't know how to do that. Please can anyone help guide me in the right direction? I've been working on this problem for hours and our class doesn't have a textbook with examples. Thank you!

1. 0.01kg of air is compressed in a cylinder so that the temperature of the air rises from 293K to 413k if the work done is 2000J, calculate the heat flow ... 2. if the air in the cylinder is now allowed to cool to 293K again, while the same cylinder volume is maintained, calculate the additional heat flow ... so for #1 known values are Delta T=120 M=0.1 Q=2000 ... #2 Delta T = -120 M=0.1 and volume stays constant ... also for all of the questions air: Cv=718J/kgK Cp=1005J/kgK R-287J/kgK I've managed to get myself stuck I don't know which formula is needed to solve this problem, or maybe it's just I don't know the symbol for heat flow, thanks for the help

I have worked for pages and pages, but I just cannot find a way to work out this question. it goes: Determine all pairs of values of the real numbers p and q, where 1 + i is one root of the equation: z3 + pz2 + qz - pq = 0 I know things such as one of the other two roots is 1 - i, and that the 3rd root is real, and also that an equation with roots a and b is (x - a)(x - b) = 0, but please believe me, I have tried using all my knowledge of this to work out the answers, and all my efforts have come to nought. Please help me, I would like to know how one goes about tackling a problem like this.

============== ============== [math]0.5((x-3)^3 - 3(x-3)^)[/math] ====================== ====================== THE LAST SAMURAI (not really) Tonight, I ventured into the unknown. The shaman spoke, and the world faded; four arrows into Oblivion; a desolate landscape bereft of life and love. Suddenly, a polynomial appears! Its teeth gnash. Half as short as a wild polynomial, this creature was clearly domesticated. Undeniably though, malice glinted from its bloodshot eyes. Steeling my will, I began to stare directly into the eyes of the polynomial. Sweat pours down my face, the struggle of wills so devastatingly intense that surrounding …

I know that both of these elements do not usually form a negative ion and that they're part of the same group. So now I'm stuck because I have nothing to talk about. 1. A hammer taps on the end of a 4 m long metal bar at room temperature. A microphone at the other end of the bar picks up two pulses of sound, one that travels through the metal and one that travels through the air. The pulses are separated in time by 11.0 ms. What is the speed of sound in this metal? I know that sound travels faster in metal than in air. What does 4m metal bar supposed to represent? Does pulses of sound mean "Beats"? I am confused here.

The overall length of a piccolo is 32.0 cm. The resonating air column vibrates as in a pipe that is open at both ends. a. Find the frequency of the lowest note a piccolo can play, assuming the speed of sound in air is 340 m/s. b. Opening holes in the side effectively shortens the length of the resonant column. If the highest note a piccolo can sound is 4000 Hz, find the distance between adjacent antinodes for this mode of vibration. Open-Open system, so Lambda=2L (1st Harmonic, Am I right here?) =2(0.32m)=0.64m Frequency=340m/s / 0.64m=531.25Hz ----------->a. Is that right? b) F=4000Hz, Distance=x, antinode = 1/2 of Lambda? so 0.16m ------…

I have a 100mL buffer solution with a pH of 4.00 using 0.100M benzoic acid (pKa=4.20) and 0.180M sodium benzoate. I need to calculate the volume needed of each substance to create this buffer. So using Henderson-Hasslebalch this is what i came up with 4.00=4.20 + log [.180M]/[.100M] -0.2= log[.180M]/[.100M] I took the neg. log of -.2 and got .631 = [.180]/[.100M] now im stuck. shouldnt I have a variable somewhere to solve for? Im not sure what i've missed.
