Alright guys, here is the deal. Any member who gets 25 or more referrals will receive a free shirt, mug, or mousepad with any of the images below. Image Option 1: Image Option 2: Image Option 3: (physics can be replaced with any field) More images will be added soon (likely way before anyone gets 25 referrals). In order to refer someone, they must follow this link.. http://www.scienceforums.net/forums/index.php?referrerid=1 Replace "1" with your UserID and use this as the link to send to your friends. If you're not sure what your UserID is, click on your name in the "Active Users" list on the left hand side of the main page.…

I have created a banner and buttons if you wish to link to us. They are standard sized (468x60, 120x60, 88x31) JPGs in the attached zip. The raw render from 3dsmax is available at http://fafalone.hypermart.net/scienceforums/ ( (very) high-resolution TIF) if you wish to resize it to other dimensions for other use. Note: I noticed that for some reason QuickTime apparently thinks it can open .tif files. It cannot. Use Save Target As (or equiv in your browser) and open it with a program that can actually read that format, or your browser may freeze. sf_images.zip

Just a friendly reminder to all members, please do not post the same thing multiple times. If you think something belongs in two different forums, you should pick one them. Duplicate threads will be deleted. This also applies to duplicate replies.

I changed the javascript around a bit so that vbcode that you insert into a reply [using the buttons] will appear wherever your cursor is in the replybox, instead of at the end of the text. Mucho less annoying. Only works with IE.

At the bottom of every thread you'll see a quick reply box. Its there for us lazy people who would rather not have to click "Post Reply" for a simple response. It does not parse vbCode, so if you want to make your text pretty or add hyperlinks you still need to use the "Post Reply" button. If you find any bugs PM me.

I added a hack that will make it easier to quote posts. If you look in the upper right area of each post you'll see a checkbox with "quote" next to it. Check all the posts you want to quote and when you hit reply it will automatically quote them for you. Right now it only shows up for users using the orbitz theme. Let me know if you find any bugs.

I just wanted to encourage all users, particularly some of our newer and younger users, that choosing a good topic for your thread is very important. The topic of the post should be in the title. Not only are you likely to get more reads on it, but it will also look better in the topic list.

I have added a bunch of new smilies that can be used for writing mathematical equations. Since images are not allowed, this feature is very useful for accurately expressing things like partial derivatives and integrals. Click "Get More" on the Smilies box when posting to see them. Send me any symbols I've left out, size should be similar to existing ones. Also, superscript and subscript tags been added, and . Close with a /

Several people have encountered errors while attempting to vote on polls from the internal AOL browser; it throws an invalid session error. While the cause or a fix is not known to us yet, the problem can be resolved by not using AOL's internal browser.
