Cree25
What is the effect on the acetylcholine concentration in the synapse after administration of an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor?
Function
Have you got any idea what acetylcholinesterase does? It basically breaks down acetylcholine (most - if not all? - enzymes ending in -esterase break down an esterified compound, here it is an ester of acetic acid (acetate) and choline). Now I once was told not to directly give the answer to direct questions on this forum, so I'm gonna let you figure out for yourself what will happen if you inhibit (acetyl)cholinesterase and its function of breaking down the excess of acetylcholine in a neuromuscular/neuronal synapse.
