Or just electrolysis of NaCl alone, the hydroxide ions from water will bond with the Na+ ions.

Wow- so much work/expense just to make sodium hydroxide. Amazing. Its the bleach of the chemical industry.

(also, CaSO4- another name is plaster of paris, I believe...)
