sorry to bother you all again, but i'm having a problem with radioactivity again.

I've read that these radioactive isotopes can detect oil leakages.

I've ran searches but haven't found any results on exactly how this process occurs.

Try this. I googled on: oil leak radioactive tracer

it says that they are used as tracers and how it is done, but the explanation is too superficial. Do you know the exact method of how they detect leakeges? as in a step by step thing

Where are you talking leakages:

Production site?

Pipeline?

Transport vehicle?

Refinery?

A different technique would be appropriate for each.

oil leakages in general as in pipelines, refineries, and not in transportation vehicles and such, more of the ones that deal with freak accidents that destroy nature
