Would a biochemist help me?

Featured Replies

Hello!

I'm in a competition, in which on saturday, I'll have to answer a few questions related to biochemistry and genetics. I would like to ask help from a biochemist to answer these questions.

I don't have the questions right now, I'll get them on sunday morning, and I'll have to send the answers back on sunday until midnight. I'm just curious if somebody could help me on sunday.

Since this is a competition that you are entering and not the members of SFN, this would be a little unfair and against SFN policy.

Sounds a little bit cheaty?

No, it doesn't, because according to the competition's rules, the competitors may use any kind of help, e.g. teachers, internet, forums, books etc.

Then what's the point of the competition? Who can make most efficient use of resources? Seems a bit pointless.

We are in high school, and the competition is about criminal investigation. A 10th, or an 11th grader should know everything about criminal investigation, and should answer every single question without asking, seems legit...

In the first two rounds we are just preparing theoretically for the third round, where we have to go in there and prove ourselves - practically, like investigating a made up crime - without any help, and that is the point of the whole competition. But how could we learn, if we can not solve the problems, because some people will not help us.

Good luck with that.
