A poll was conducted concerning why people had broadband cable, the answer was.......... (1) To download music (2) to download porn. What do you people on this scientific forum think....if anything?? 5614 Posted December 10, 2004 Share Posted December 10, 2004 how was that survey carried out and where? for example was it in america, UK or worldwide, im sure the result would be different in different countries. also who was asked? for example if they did the survey in one area which happened to be into porn then the results would be different to if you went around central working london and asked there! i do have a lot of bookmarks other than that i download a bit of a mix of everything (except porn - yes, i am honestly telling you i dont do that!) I heard it on the radio or TV, It was very brief, and only stated that the #1 reason was music, and #2 was porn. The reason it may have been mentioned was that 1 person out of 4 has broadband cable, which I think is unusually high. From what I see here, looks like the science folks aren't that interested in porn. I imagine there must be some cultured porn forums on the internet, maybe they, and Mr. Joe Sixpack download the porn, and the youngsters download the music. I also heard it on the headlines and wondered how the stats would change if dial-up users were polled for their activities...I guess it's just more patient porn-watchers in that category to wait for long downloads, lol.. Although this is becoming less of an issue nowadays (the 'fitting onto a cd'), as hard drives and dvd drives become larger and more plentiful respectively. What do you people on this scientific forum think....if anything??[/quote'] i use it for all three! well let's see, what do i use it for... faster surfing of the net in ALL areas (forums, livejournal, news sites, things for homework). downloading freeware music. downloading videos (including movie/game trailers, anime/game music videos, and some pr0n... hey, i'm a horny, somewhat rebellious teenager, what do you expect??!!?!112?11!22111) playing flash movies/games. downloading freeware games. playing online games. that's all that i can think of. i have no specific reason for having it, it's just better, and makes the internet more useful. and my dad's the one that wanted it first, so blame him Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
