Dark energy

Featured Replies

i see the subject from more of a field theory perspective.

consider a small cube of space.

it contains a huge amount of potential energy in it.

in fact it has two opposing fields of energy in it.

one is just barely more than the other resulting in a very slight leftover energy.

this leftover is dark energy.

spacer expands in a fight to get back to zero.

as you might imagine the result is an ever faster expanding expanse of space.

And of course, davidivad, your perspective is confirmed by the Casimir Effect.

I particularly enjoyed your imagery of the metrics fighting for equilibrium.
