A time traveler in the Bible?

Featured Replies

I never knew that the Bible mentioned a time traveler until today and thought some one else might find it an interesting fact.

Within the verses of Rev. 22:16 it states, " I am the root and the offspring of David"

This proves it, Somewhere sombody was thinking about time travel even thousands of years ago.

Well, just how do you propose that the author of this quote is both the father and the son of David, without traveling through time?

Jesus said it in a dream that John of Patmos recorded. Lots of things can happen in dreams without them being real.

It could just be a translation error. In some translations "offspring" is also "heir".

As the David they are talking about is a king, then someone who give up the throne to their child (sort of retired), but when that child died without a descendent, then the father would be considered the heir and could take up the throne.

So, depending on how you translate it, it does seem possible.

Also, for a bit of humour what about the Muppets. It seems that they can be their own Grandpa:
