HCL and H2O2

lets say if i want a solution of hcl and h2o2 to make copper chloride from elemental copper how much 30% h2o2 should i add to the hcl i think its around 30% or 35%.

this is not for school its just for hobby chemistry.

2HCl+H2O2+Cu ----> CuCl2+2H2O

35% HCl solution : 30% H2O2 solution =1.84(approx) by weight

The hydrogen peroxide can decompose into oxygen (regardless of the presence of HCl).

Hm, maybe:

2 HCl + H2O2 -> 2 H2O + Cl2

I'm not 100% sure, so don't rely on this alone.

I think it can be both, Cl2 gas as well as O2 gas. You have to look in to the oxidation potentials of Cl- ions and H2O2.
