What is "Exploit Javascript Obsfuscation (type 905)"?

Featured Replies

Hi:

When I go to http://sparkingtech.com/tech-sci-news/researchers-create-worlds-fastest-internet-connection my AVG software gives an alert:

"Threat detected!"

"File name: sparkingtech.com/tech-sci-news/researchers-create-worlds-fastest-internet-connection"

"Threat name: Exploit Javascript Obsfuscation (type 905)"

Below this it is underlined "More information about the threat"

Below that there is,

"Process name: C:\Program Files\SeaMonkey\seamonkey.exe"

and

"Process ID: 2776"

I click the underlined text "More information about the threat". I am then taken to http://free.avg.com/us-en/virbase?idn=%40EID_Id_exp

I then search the threat "Exploit Javascript Obsfuscation (type 905)" and the search results are "We did not find any virus in the Virus Encyclopedia. Please try to use a more generic name at least 3 characters long."

What's going on here?

Thanks a bunch,

Green

When I clicked on your link it was flagged by Google as an attack site. Here's the link to why it was blocked. I would imagine this information relating to risky sites is shared, hence it being flagged by your AVG, Google and probably others:
