Has anybody used Ebay

Featured Replies

to buy a car???

I've used it many a time on small stuff, but not something of this caliber.

Anyway, this is the auction I'm thinking about:

Right now I have a 1999 Z28, but will sell it in a heartbeat for one of these 30th Anniversary SS models.

Actually you aren't necessarily covered if you buy on eBay.

They're car enthusiasts, not international law, terms of service and indemnification experts ;)

I would go and have a look at the car before buying anything; although you're covered if you buy it on eBay, and the guy's lied about there being no rust etc.

You're covered TO AN EXTENT. I believe you can sue the seller for misrepresentation of goods, but if you're trying to get money back from ebay/paypal itself, then you're only going to get 1/20th or so.

There is also a reserve.... Theres no telling how high it is. I cant stand people who make reserves, I just skip over them.

Most people aren't going to rip you off because they genuinely want to sell something, and there's lots of safeguards to protect you. I've bought quite a lot of things off of there, and they've all turned up in very good condition at a very good price.
