Okay, imagine this political cartoon for me:

 

An outhouse, door swinging open wide. Hordes of photographers standing in front. Obama sitting inside, startled expression on his face, pants down, shouting "GIBBS!!!"

 

They've just about gone that far.

Have they gone too far? yeah, for about the last 40 years! Obama on the toilet would be par for the course, you can't be a human anymore. No one is perfect enough to stand the scrutiny.

I think part of the reason for the photo op in this case was to underscore the only real point the president could make in such a short period of time, which is that this is what happens when you screw up at this level.

I enjoyed all the analysis about the beer choices. (Bud Light for Obama, Red Stripe for Gates, Blue Moon for Crowley.) Personally, I would have served them all from a keg of Arrogant Bastard Ale, and let the pundits make of that what they want.
