I suppose a big enough one would be, yes. It would have to have a focal point quite some distance away though.

to back Dave up a little, although it`s entirely possible to do, I do totaly understand his point, for all we know it could have blinded all the buggers on the ship and someone droped a torch (pitch soaked rags on a big stick) and set fire to the ship that way

Daresay a lack of sunlight wouldn't help either

forgive me if I`m wrong, but didn`t they have cannons on board back then too? and at least a fire source to ignite arrows with before launch? and so I`de suggest that open fires above deck were possibly common during battle, and that it is EQUALY possible that if the mirrors didn`t set fire to a sail (and that is possible) that it could at least have Blinded someone enough to drop a torch or knock a comunal fire over over whilst staggering about shouting " My eyes!!! my Beautifull Eyes!, I can`t Seeeeeee!!!!!" Whoooosh big fire on deck
