Yeah but realistic looking atoms don't make for good pictures.

I don't dispute your complaint at all. However I think a little artistic license can be forgiven if it allows one to fit everything in the confines of the banner.

Now faf, if I bothered to ponce around with logical pregressionary thought like that, why on earth would I be a chemist?

Drinking chemicals? Why would I do that when inhalation is so much more fun and productive?
