uncut DNA in electrophoresis!! help!!

Featured Replies

Hi! I was wonderng if anyone knows why its useful to include uncut DNA in an electrophoresis when analysing the cut DNA restriction fragments?

As otherwise you won't know if the Cut DNA has actually been cut up or is just the normal DNA, you can work it out of course with markers but it is easier just to have two bands form.

That's a perfectly legitimate question that I myself asked while working in the lab.
