How are they made? Can we request to make one?

Anyone can make one. At the bottom of the Social Group page, click "Create a New Group."

Nope, I only have the 'Search Groups' option.

perhaps you need a few more posts before it will let you create a new group. to make sure your not just going to be here far a few days then abandon the site.

Yes, that what I think too. Does anyone know exactly how many post are required?

Most "post-restricted" permissions are either 30 or 50 posts. I don't know which.

They must have added the post restriction after the spam attack a few days after the Social Groups were added to the site.
