I can simulate space travel by walking across a room.

 

That's not really a simulation, though, is it? Do you live in the Matrix?

while the graphics and animations aren't as good as that professionally rendered movie(which probably took weeks to make) ...yet. the physics works and some addons will even simulate cabin conditions and if the crew will survive.

 

http://www.orbitersim.com is quite impressive. works with XP not sure about vista, can be made to work on linux although buggily

it is pretty cool isn't it. if you really wanted to you could to a real time trip to mars(or any of the other planets and their moons) or whatever.

 

i've only been patient enough to go to the moon in realtime though. recreated apollo 11. got there 32 seconds faster :P
