Opportunity is down, and spirit is up

Featured Replies

The second of the two mars rovers, opportunity, landed safely last night at 5:05 GMT. Continuing work on Spirit, which seemed to break down recently has pointed to an error in the flash memory. NASA engineers now have it booting up from the main RAM and it seems alot healthier now.

yeah, I`ve just seen the 1`st pictures from oportunity on Sky News this morning, from the looks of things, they couldn`t have picked a better place to land, it`s all perfectly flat and featureless for a good 50 meters were there are a few rock crops, Nice Landing! :)

I just feel kindof sorry for the Beagle 2 crew, it's a terrible shame that it didn't make it.

It's not only a technical thing it also a money thing.

NASA did spend about 6 times the money ESA did.

And the main task (the mars express) is a succes.

(the beagle2 was/is an add-on british project)

Any idea if ESA does the same with the Mars Express pics/data?

I hope not, because the water on mars story is leeching the pic directly from their server ;)

Not sure if it's an Belgian law or European agreement but there is one that says that eveything that is published is automatically copyrighted also without © symbol.

not sure though.
