Big Bang background radiation

Recommended Posts

Here is an apparent paradox

They say that everything was created by the big bang whıch was a single point event.

So both big bang background radiation and we the viewers of this radiation were created by the big bang.

The radiation is travelling at the speed of light

Then surely we must have travelled faster than the speed of light in order to get in front of it to be in a position to view it.

sorry about the lack of punctuation. Im in a turkish internet cafe with funny characters ığüçö

The radiation is comming from everywhere' date=' as everywhere was the single point...

No paradox just a little confussing if you don't know that everywhere was once the same place...[/quote']

IIRC wasn't the radiation released at a point (in time) when the universe was a finite size? Due to the expansion what we see (detect) is finally reaching us and at every moment it gets further redshifted.

Yes. It was released at around 300 000 years after the big bang I believe, when the universe became transparent to EM radiation. So the entire universe was glowing, thats the light that's still reaching us.
