When i try to get to the SFN chatroom I get the error:

Connecting...

Unable to connect : java.security.AccessControlException : access denied (java.net.SocketPermission irc.blackcobalt.net resolve)

 

What can I do to open it?

You can download something like X-Chat or mIRC and connect manually. The information on how to connect is here.

check your firewall log and see if its blocking it that happened to me a few months ago, although i still can't get into the java client.

Does anyone ever go on the chatroom? I can't get it working and I'm wondering if it's worth it.

Depends on the time of day. Given you live in Florida, I'd recommend you avoid coming on during the evening (slow hours) but the afternoon is good (20 online sometimes).

The highest I've seen has been around 30 people, that would have been mid to late afternoon in the US
