hi

i was in a meeting where a man presented

a system ( called Promotron ) for write data "on any surface"

in an "invisible" , "in-adulterable", "impossible to copy" way

and then read it.........

he never showed, by the way, HOW HE WRITES THE DATA

and he said that the way of writing is a secret

is it possible ???

his intention is to replace clasics

magnetic stripe cards

by any object ( plastic card, cardboard, etc )

using this system

he said that this is a revolutionary technology......

but i don't rely much in him

i have looked for some system already invented,

and i found "LSA - laser surface autenthication"

by russell cowburn

LSA method simply don't write , just unique surface properties

i think the system that i seen

is a like of copy of LSA

what do you think

can anybody guide me to "the truth" ?

thanks T-Nemesis,

i mean "DIRECTLY ON THE SURFACE"

he shows a little device

that reads up to 10 alpha digits

i think that is possible to write

but no in the way that he proposed

that is, i understand that can write

invisible information (like magnetic stripes)

but... how can he tell

that the method is in-vulnerable

and nobody can copy that info

and the make a "clon"

in opposition to the magentic card

that can simply be copied with

a write device, a read device, and a cable

i don't understand how he "CAN HIDE"

and "OMNISCIENTLY PROTECT"

the written info from the bad guys along the time ...

the only thing i know is that

is not a magnetic device...

again, how the information persist ...?

This reminds me of a technique where you can fingerprint paper based on scanning the way in which the fibers interact. Are you sure that he's writing on the surface? Maybe he just scans the surface associates the message with the scan and then is able to retrieve the message by rescanning the surface. The only way to actually truely hind the message and find it is to know where it's hidden.

actually this is probably the LSA that you're talking about, or simular.

Don't assume that just because he says that he's writing on the surface that he actually changed something on the surface. It might be a ploy.

Besides that the only other possibility is if the device actually deposites some sort of coating on the surface. Maybe something that's reflective to only a certain uv band. But then again if anyone got ahold of the device it wouldn't be a secret anymore. So most likley he is just using LSA to recall an associated message.

yes, i am persuaded

that he don't write nothing

i was looking for the patent registry of LSA

at patent.gov.uk

i found it and i discover that

is registered in many countries

but in my country (AR) ...

perhaps,

that is the question

thanks
