Lino249 Posted August 21, 2017 Share Posted August 21, 2017 Hi there, I thought that this would be an interesting topic to discuss with some other minds as I came across the idea on holiday when there were a lot of them. Mosquitoes are to me the most annoying insect in the world as they only seem to be keen on biting humans, if we were to have the means to completely eradicate them from the planet how would the ecosystem be affected by the change, surely whatever the mosquitoes predator is can easily find another main meal to survive on. Manticore Posted August 21, 2017 Share Posted August 21, 2017 In fact, it is only the females that bite humans. Only the anopheles mosquito carries malaria. How do I know: in 30+ years in Africa I've long ago lost count of the number of times I've had malaria - it gets to be just one of those annoying things...
