Changing the law

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

How hard would it be to change the law and nullify the current age limit on the President of the United States?

If I had the majority support of america, could I force the change?

It would require a constitutional amendment.

For that you would need a 2/3 majority vote in both houses of congress, or a 2/3 majority vote from a national convention formed by the the request of 2/3 of the state legislatures, to send it to the states.

Then it would need to be ratified by 3/4 of the state legislatures or by 3/4 of state ratifying conventions.

Alright.

This shouldn't be too hard.(joking, obviously.)

You wouldn't be able to nullify a requirement. Changing it is procedural. Big question, are you lowering it or raising it? POTUS is minimum 35, which already seems young to many. Teddy Roosevelt was youngest POTUS at 42.

Attempting to eliminate it.

I'm not 35 frankly, and I don't feel like waiting before the whole country is messed up.

Plus, if I can implement more money toward science and technology, that could result in huge leaps in technology for humanity.

35 years of heavy advancements could mean a lot.

But, I'm 14.

So problems arise.

Especially if the Democrats can find an 8 year old with more money than you.

Maybe.

But I'm good at making speeches.

And also.

My key strategy.

Can I possibly be worse then the person currently in office?

Besides.

That's not the point.

The opposing parties will not be insane enough to try and elect a child the president of the United States.

But I've lived to see the day a pig was elected, so I might as well run too.

The plan, is to gain support BEFORE the presidential election in 2020, and gain support in congress and the senate in 2018.
