  1. Hello everyone, I have another question: If I created a three-dimensional object with photoshop, how do I add that object or image into the program code?
  2. Ok, thanks for the info. But I have another question: If I created a three-dimensional object with photoshop, how do I add that object or image into the program code?
  3. Hi, Could someone please explain me what this component from the drawing means? This is taken from here: http://www.fas.org/spp/guide/china/launch/lm2c/Image2190.gif http://www.fas.org/spp/guide/china/launch/lm2c/2C_Chapter5.htm
  4. Hi, I have another question. How do I introduce game physics into the program code?
  5. With vision you can know the color of an object. Without vision it's impossible. With touch you can know the stucture and shape of an object but with vision you can infer that instantly and much more easily than with the sense of touch alone.
  6. Yeah but it's all an assumption or a theory. A person who was born blind and has never seen a wall or a ball or any other objects for that matter cannot know whether the wall exists or not. He must rely on the sense of touch in order to make such an assumption. So what instruments do physicists use to detect particles? But if science is not about searching for the higher or fundamental truth, then for what is it useful? I hope that one day we will discover the truth, whether it's through science or in any other way. Many people and this includes me want to know: Is there a God which created the universe? Is there life after death (also called afterlife)? What is the meaning, purpose or goal of our lives? If the above questions can be answered, then we finally got one giant step closer to the final truth.
  7. But how do we know what really bounces off the photons if we can't see it with our eyes? Physics the way it is taught today looks much more like a religion or a belief system to me than a objective truth or reality. Physics looks too much theoretical to me. And this is why I don't think I will go for physics but rather for other subjects like linguistics, psycholinguistics, psychology, cognitive science or computer science.
  8. So how can electrons be seen? And if we can't see them, how do we know they really exist?
  9. Hi everyone, I asked the same question in another forum but couldn't get an answer... My question is this: since the human eye can detect or see only photons or light then are electrons, neutrons and protons visible? Can electrons, neutrons and protons really be seen?
  10. What do you mean by higher-level libraries? Can you recommend me some higher-level libraries for Java? I don't know what I want to do yet. First I need to know more about Java/OpenGL libraries before I could know what I want to do with them.
  11. If you want more insight about computer chess then visit: http://www.talkchess.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2&sid=f4720db1e54ac301c1e1044a0133c499 Some of the people there are much more knowledgeable on the subject than me.
  12. Kasparov is no longer the world champion. Kasparov resigned from competitive chess on March 10, 2005 to devote his time to politics and writing. Viswanathan Anand is currently the chess world champion but Veselin Topalov is currently the highest rated player in FIDE (World Chess Federation). Deep Blue was the best chess entity at this time but chess software technology has advanced a lot since Deep Blue. Modern chess programs will beat Deep Blue rather easily. Deep Rybka 3 running on a 52-core computer cluster proved to be almost unbeatable. Cluster computing (also called distributed computing) is the future.
  13. Deep Blue is no longer the most powerful chess program. Deep Blue was simply a very fast computer (called the RS 6000) but the chess program was crappy. Modern chess programs like Deep Rybka 3, Deep Shredder XP, Crafty (developed by Robert Hyatt), Naum 4 are much stronger than the chess program Deep Blue was running.
  14. I read on HowStuffWorks that 64-bit RAM address space equals 2^64 bytes of RAM. http://computer.howstuffworks.com/microprocessor6.htm Why is that?
  15. I read somewhere that 64-bit RAM address space equals 2^64 bytes of RAM is something on the order of a billion gigabytes of RAM. Why is that?
  16. But why is less dense air less massive? This is what I don't understand. By 'lighter' I mean has less weight or weights less and that is also the dictionary's definition of 'lighter'. What I mean is that even if air expands in volume its mass and hence its weight should stay the same because mass is simply the quantity of material which a body contains, irrespective of its volume.
  17. Actually they should weigh the same in a similar gravitational field. Their mass should also be same. Unlike weight, mass is the amount of material an object contains and does not change under a different gravitational field. If the boat is floating it's weight is equal to the weigth of the volume of water displaced. Merged post follows: Consecutive posts merged But why is less dense air lighter? 18. I still don't get it. Why is mass always compared to volume? Mass is just the quantity of matter, regardless of the volume. So shouldn't two objects of two different volumes still have the same weight regardless of their volume if their mass is the same or is mass always a function of volume? That is what I have been taught but it could be wrong.
  19. So if there was no atmosphere like on the Moon then denser air will not be lighter than less dense air? Merged post follows: Consecutive posts merged What I don't get is that by density we mean mass per unit volume but when we say 'lighter' we actually mean 'weights less or of less weight'. So why does less mass per unit volume mean less weight?
  20. In kidsgeo they write that as air is heated it expands becoming less dense, and as a result, lighter. http://www.kidsgeo.com/geography-for-kids/0070-adiabatic-temperature-changes.php But why is that really?
  21. Hi, I have a question. I realized there is something wrong with me. Everytime after I eat asparagus I get tired and get nausea and sometimes even vomiting. What could be the reason for this? Could I have some sensitivity to asparagus?
  22. Hi, Are there any compilers who would compile a program written in both C++ or Java and OpenGL?
