I was wondering if you have any experience with CuSO4. They say it gives a nice blue collor to fireworks. Is it true.

And how much of barium carbonate should i use with 100 grams of BP

5g is a considerable "pile" you MAY find that unless you made REAL BP that the top surface melted as the match aproached leaving the less dense material (charcoal) to float to the top, formin an almost protective layer, of course all this takes place in under a second, but non the less will affet the burn rate as the same phenomenon will propogate throughout the material.

Well the surface melts a little bit. So i chose the glowing tip of wood for ignition technique. It Ignites instantly with no melting.

and belive it or not once i burned 50 grams of BP

and some very anoying old lady called the cops.

So i can't afford to burn larger quantities than 2-5 grams.

I' tried burning some BP today

and it may seem a bit strange

but it works better when i lit it with a glowing tip of a bamboo

stick.

Is this becouse a match eats most of the Oxygen around the pile of BP

The dust one has way more sparks than ultra fine dust

Dextrin is also available at almost every pyrotechnics company, if someone has access to one. I think United Nuclear (once again) sells it too.

you`ll need a temp of about 180c for about 15 mins, spread the flour quite flat and even, but keep watching it, don`t let it burn, it should be a tan color only, try it again

so from what i've read so far about making dextrin.

You put some corn flour in the oven at 180 C and leave it for about 15 min until it has a little tan.

When i tried the separation proces today i ended up with a very small amount of it. All most nothing. But when i disolved KNO3 in Water a couple of months ago and evaporated the water today i got a pretty good amount of KNO3 out of it.

So is KCLO3/O4 more unstable than KNO3 ?

And bush doesn't want to reduce toxic gasses in the air from factories.

Becouse it would destroy the ohh so fragile US Industry

the red/brown type sound like safety matches (the box usualy has a red phos strip on the side). those are perfectly fine to use

I'll try again later today cuz i'll go to the super market and buy a case of matches. I was a little short this time.

just 1 question. I used matches which had a redish brown head. Are these ok.

OK The H2o evaporated and i got tiny crystals.
